The ND Boards are a-buzz about the "Countdown Clock" being correct...whatever the hell that means.

In any case, there are some very pro-Stoops posters who have been claiming for awhile that he was the guy that are very happy and excited right now. I'm still trying to figure out what happened...but I'll let you guys know if I hear something...

Once upon a time, I would have said there's no way Stoops would be leaving OU to go to South Bend -- but after visiting one of the Sooner fan sites, I'm not so sure. There's a significant percentage of Oklahoma fans who aren't all that upset about Stoops leaving.

I guess losing all those BCS bowls in a row (and the way they lost them) has taken some of the shine off him for the Sooners. I'd say: be careful what you wish for to them, because there's no guarantee the next OU coach won't take them back into oblivion (where they were before Stoops resurrected them).

I received a phone call from a very good friend of mine that I do business with in Pittsburgh today. This guy is also VERY good friends with Chuck Lanza, he told me that Lanza said the Stoops rumors are true and Lanza expects him to be named the next HC at ND. Again, it's 3rd hand information but I believe my friend because he has introduced me to Lanza a couple times at some golf outings.
