Is not shocked at all. You can steal at airport baggage claim pretty damn easy. I keep a lock on my bag and watch it like a hawk. Not the circumstances here but ya get the point.

All to keep us safe. :)

Now to the non-topic. Since TSA folks are technically not police this counts as one non-thepolicearetryingtokillusall thread.

Anything for safety. Americans are so terrified of the dread terrorist at the airports, they'll put up with just about anything. Stealing shouldn't be any different.

Sad thing is, the terrorists have already won. We've allowed them to win by policing our own citizens as if they were terrorists. They wanted us to live in fear and that is exactly what our government is forcing us to do.......fear of them (our government).

Honestly though, why the fuck would you put that much cash in checked luggage? Put that shit in your carry on or wear a moneybelt. It obviously was going to be searched no matter what, so it's not like you're sneaking it on the flight.

This this and this

Putting cash in your checked luggage is insane. Hell, carrying that much cash on your person in a money belt is nuts too. Put the money in your bank and withdraw as needed at your nearest ATM.

I'm not saying the TSA "agents" were justified in stealing but........

Bin Laden & Co. are sitting in their Pakistani cave and laughing their asses off at our government.

If you can't afford a doctor, go to any airport in the US. You'll get a free x-ray, breast exam, and if you mention Al-Qaeda you get a free colonoscopy.

Can't really blame the TSA for the actions of 2 people. It's like saying ALL priests are bad because a few molested children or ALL police are bad because a few cops beat ...... OOPS.

You can blame the TSA for sexually assaulting American travels who are doing nothing to break the law. You can blame the TSA for treating each and every person who flies in this country as a potential terrorist. I've got no love at all for the TSA, absolute waste of an organization.

Actually you can blame the TSA for not properly screening employees. And you can blame police precints for hiring piece of shit pigs that dishonor the badge and oath, and you can blame the priests who went against what they should have been taught. What a stupid stupid thing for you to say.

Ive been gone for a bit but I see that the ignorance of Ohio Chatter is still here.

Lets just hope this doesnt turn into another big mess where I have to verbally batter people again for saying silly things.

No, its directed at me and I am just having some fun at your expense Ender. You're obviously entitled to your opinion and there is nothing wrong with pointing out INDIVIDUALS that are not doing their job, but you shouldn't say an entire organization is bad or at it again because of a few bad apples. Every organization from religious leaders to boyscouts, politicians to soldiers, teachers to doctors have bad people that represent them.

By the way Ender's Game is a good book.

Relax and have more fun, this really isn't serious business.

I'm taking a guess, but since it was an international flight, I am guessing it was a foreign national that was traveling with that amount of cash, jsut a guess. Still stupid though.

I can agree with this. The TSA has had many problems with employees. You would think for an agency that is supposed to be "protecting" the US from terrorists that they'd hire competent people to work as officers. Most of the TSA officials I ahve encountered look like high school dropouts.

Whoa, this is the Serious Business forum. If you ain't serious, GTFO!!!!!
ccrunner609;682288 wrote:you cant blame the whole TSA for this....its an isolated incident. Its like blaming all teachers for trying to hook up with students just because a few did it.

For this particular incident you can't blame the entire TSA, but you can blame the TSA for hiring some of the dirtbag employees they have (this is not the first incident and won't be the last). As I have stated, many TSA employees do not look qualified to be a custodian at a school let alone work as a line of defense of our nation.

WHAT???!!!!! You mean you get what you pay for. I thought for that kind of cash highly qualified people would be lining up for the job. At least new teachers could switch professions and make more money being a TSA screener.

Funny story about TSA. I was traveling home in my ACUs on crutches from my annual training in California in the summer of 2008. This was before the body scanners and frisking. Since my leg was in a brace that had metal in it, they required me to take the brace off and put it in the scanner, as well as my crutches. At this point my knee was pretty swollen and I had about no range of motion with it. I told them I didn't think I could walk through the metal detector, and they suggested that someone carry me through the detector. I laughed at the guy and told him to help me off to the side and use the hand held wand to scan me, which he did, and nothing set off the wand. Not satisfied with that, they then proceeded to conduct a frisk on my leg where the brace had been located. I really wanted to ask the guy if he thought I was trying to bring a weapon on board, in uniform, while I could barely walk...

Anyways, a lot of TSA agents that I've talked to are retired military, that's probably how some of them can live off the 29K

I don't regularly follow orders violating the 4th Amendment and sexually assaulting Americans at my job. Don't give me any sob story about the TSA. They all should feel like crap, terrible bunch of human beings. Just following orders is a POS excuse and doesn't fly.
