Anyone watching Mississippi at Kentucky from Rupp Arena? WTF was ESPN thinking by deciding to broadcast the entire UK-Miss St. game from the ceiling? My God, ESPN, quit trying to be inventive. You're a sports network, not HGTV on LSD.
For me, it was an immediate channel flip. And it's too bad, because I was looking forward to this game. But I'm not watching the game from the perspective of a hot-air balloon.
If ESPN even shows the Duke game at Virginia tomorrow night from the point-of-view of Kyrie Irving's shoe, I'm going to be pissed.

Just wait, they are showing only small portions of the game from the regular camera view. There, the hot-air balloon angle is back.

I WAS watching, but decided to give it up. Ignorant camera angle is so annoying, you can't tell if they're shots or passes.
Just show the damn game.

From kyfan606 on the CatsPause Message Board:
I could not watch it either I was getting sea sick. First time I can remember not watching a game on tv that I had access to.
Lol.

It's whenever UK's on offense. And it's awful. Almost gives me motion-sickness.

That is pretty bad. They should have that only on ESPN3 so if you want to check it out you can but it isn't forced on you.

Here's a link to voice your displeasure if you are so inclined.
"If I wanted to watch the game from the sky, I would be Batman. Get the hot-air balloon cam out of here, please. I think it gave me a mental illness. Thank you for this invention."
That was my message to ESPN. Thanks for the quick link, ytown. ESPN is becoming more stupid by the year. If Duke wasn't on their station 31 times a year, I wouldn't watch it. Lol.

^^Did it, really? Haha. If I weren't watching House, I'd tune in.
Shawshank Redemption is a top ten all-time movie.

ESPN will also have one of the official miked up during the Ohio State game tonight. Not just for the calls but apparently an open mike for the entire game.

Yeah Shawshank running all week.
I also wrote a little note, told them their sponsors lost my viewership for this one as I found other entertainment that was more watchable.

I have no problem with ESPN wanting to try something new. Just because something has always been done one way doesn't mean that it's the best way. However, they shouldn't have done this for a normal broadcast.
I remember a few years ago they did something similar for both Duke/UNC games, but they did it in a better way. For both match-ups they played the normal camera angle broadcast on ESPN. During the first game they showed the entire game from the "above the rim" cam on ESPN2, and during their second meeting they had like six different camera angles at once on ESPN2 (Sky cam, both above the rim, normal angle, under the basket, and maybe court level). If you want to experiment do it like that or do what NBC does with Sunday night football and put alternate angles online.

I also hate it when they put the two separate boxes showing the coaches on the side of the screen during game action--it's very distracting
