I've watched the Wily Mo Pena about 5 times on my MLB11.....when they show it on Baseball Tonight (and I promise they will) it will give you the best possible demonstration of a Bo Jackson HR....many of you probably aren't fortunate enough to see Bo....watch the highlights...it was even in KC

Lol at Vargas being the #2 for Seattle. That spot belongs to Pineda, Bedard is 3rd and then Vargas. Please dont go by some ESPN depth chart or anything. Just look at the damn numbers.

Greinke went 7 innings with 10 Ks tonight. He now has, for the season, coming off an injury:
-60.1 IP
-80 Ks
-11.9 K/9
Pretty good ratio thus far.

So last week you say it's where you start the year in the rotation, now it's about the numbers? Did you bother to look at those yourself? I guess King Felix is the #3 for Seattle based on your logic and Colon is the Yankees ace too. Just look at the damn numbers.

During the broadcast they did say Vargas is the 4th man in the rotation.

A. I dont recall saying its where you start the year. Someone else maybe did, but I dont think I did.
B. When you win a Cy Young, your the Ace. You have a proven track record etc. Dont go comparing Jason Vargas and his hot couple months to King Felix. Or Colons hot start to CC. It makes you look like an idiot. Jason Vargas is the Mariners 4th starter. I dont care where he started the year. He is their 4th starter.

If they don't pass the "who the hell" test....they aren't a top 3 starter.

I'm awaiting the upcoming MARINE FIGHT between Tiger2003 (Phillies fan) and Col. Shane Tomko, who is a Cards fan. From last night's game: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/How-do-you-stop-Roy-Halladay-Marine-says-use-a-;_ylt=Am.gAqOwolh02Q9yaLBob8QRvLYF?urn=mlb-wp10286
Seriously, in the history of "uh, you might have went too far with this one" references, the one captured by Crossing Broad on Tuesday night has to rank way up there. While in the Cardinals broadcast booth to publicize Marine Week in St. Louis, Col. Shane Tomko suggested the hometown team borrow heavy artillery to neutralize Halladay, who gave up one run over six innings in the Phillies' 10-2 win at Busch Stadium.
Could Tomko's plan of attack have been considered a compliment on Halladay's current status as an unstoppable force of nature with his 2.51 ERA? Maybe if he hadn't left us with the impression that his middle name is "Gung Ho" with his unsolicited offering.
Let's go to the transcription:
Col. Tomko: I'll tell you what, with that M1A1 Abrams (tank) we got across the street, if Halladay keeps on pitching well, we can fix that with one round pretty quickly.
Cards broadcaster Dan McLaughlin: - awkward laugh - I'm sure you could. I don't know if we should say that, but you just did.
OK, so maybe Tomko was just making a bad joke in the "we're going to need a bigger boat" vein? Surely Tomko would offer a non-threatening laugh of his own and flash that sense of humor that the United States Marine Corps is so famous for. Right?
Not quite.
Col. Tomko: I can say whatever I want because I'm a war fighter, and this is the Cardinals Nation the last time I checked.
Hey, easy there, Tackleberry! Save that kind of ballpark talk for Luke Scott!

^lol that's great
"I can say whatever I want, I'm a war fighter"
Typical military garbage response
(not saying that's what everyone says in the military; i'm saying the douches who use that excuse, that's the typical response..and its dumb).

I can just imagine what's going through the announcer's mind.
"This dude's creeping me out, so I want him out of the booth...but if he leaves...will we be under artillery fire in a half-hour or so?"

Lol,
The first part seems fine and innocent to me, with the announcer making it awkward by not picking up on obvious sarcasm. But the second part is just ridiculous.

Mark Cuban told ESPN that he has interest in purchasing the Dodgers, but also said that the team may be in too much of a mess for him to step in.

That's what I thought. Like an "this guy's so good, we need a tank to stop him" sign of respect that the announcer whiffed on, followed by more of a crazy response.Laley23;809835 wrote:Lol,

Ah, I remember the good ol' days when Cuban wanted to buy the Pirates...but the fucking owners didn't want to sell. I will now honor that memory by kicking a small animal or child.

And with Jayson Nix playing for Toronto, UGGLA doesn't have the worst batting average of any position player in the game. That doesn't happen that often.

Ah. It was partway through the game when I looked that up. Didn't know it was Lugo's first game of the year, so he started at .000.

Yeah he started out like a house on fire, he was batting 1.000 until his second at bat. He just got called up to give Alex Gonzalez a break. Could probably play 2nd in case Uggla gets tired of making right handed turns at first base...
