Who cares anyway though. They only need the 3 pitchers to win. How many playoff games are 8-5? Most are like 3-2 or something. Look at SanFran last year.

Good offenses score 3 runs in the postseason. If the Phils win, it will be because they played like the Giants did. So hard to win a World Series like that. Have to be a little lucky

They also do need a reliable closer. Unless they want to be the new Atlanta, where they make the Series most years, but lose almost all of them because the bullpen lets down the starters.

With all what injuries?

I believe Lidge will handle the job when he returns. Madson might keep the job when Lidge returns from the DL.

Bastardo has been lights out anyways, he should be an all star with the numbers and ratios he has been putting up. If Utley can somehow manage to stay healthy and get rolling the rest of the year, watch out. Phillies are the team to beat in the NL.

Wow. No Kimbrel. No Hanson. #Braves lead MLB in ERA. Their staff deserved better.

Votto, Phillips, Bruce are Reds selected. Perez and Cabrera for the Tribe.

No McCutchen for the Pirates. No Teixeira, Konerko, or Howard.

Chipper voted in by players, Jurrjens and Venters both selected.

Fan voting is a joke. It needs to be scaled down BIG TIME.

Jeter starting over Druby is a complete joke.

Some other deserving players didn't even make the squad.

Yeah hopefully Jeter does the right thing and declines to play considering he will just be coming off an injury.

Let the fans vote for the last guy in and that's it.

Yeah, I was just discussing the same thing with a friend. Jeter SHOULD decline the start, but I doubt he will.

I'm used to the Pirates only having one rep (in this case, 2011's best closer so far), although McCutchen not even making the Last Man In vote is pathetic. Hopefully, he takes that out on opposing pitchers for awhile. I'd say he did today, but about half the team beat the shit out of the Nats.

Other than that, can't say too much. Pirates seem to squeak out wins without putting up big individual numbers. And if they do (like Correia's 11 wins), the stats suggest that other players helped obtain those numbers (as his overall stats say he gets good offensive support). Their season so far has been more of a team effort than a couple of guys getting their stats, which is why they're a half game up on a team with three position players picked.

Peralta has a legit beef that he should be the starting SS for the AL. Put up numbers just as good as Druby

Players voted him in, I'd say they know who is an all star and who isn't. Look at the other 3rd basemen in the NL. The only one who could be considered would be Aramis Ramirez and the Cubs are 50 games under .500. He's also having a better year than Polanco, it's just that Phillie Phans like Tiger have been voting 25 times a day for every Phillies players.

lol
