They really put an emphasis on making the playoffs on the MVP voting.....for the two that won anyways.

I agree with Braun far more than I agree with Verlander....and laley is right....Verlander winning and Kershaw not in the top 10 just doesn't go together.

The new labor agreement was a big day for baseball, particularly small market teams.

The new restrictions on the draft as far as going out of the slotting system should eliminate this whole signability issue for prospects moving forward. Also, there is talk of heading to a worldwide draft vs. the current system where you can throw gobs of money at Dominican kids and bypass the draft process.

Who'd have thought that baseball, given their history of work stoppages, would become the most stable major league sport as far as labor peace?

Off topic and this story might be old to some but I thought I'd share for an LOL.

When Manny Ramirez was in Cleveland he was known for stupid things like leaving uncashed paychecks in the glove box of his car, etc. Listening to 92.3 this morning they brought up a story of ManRam having one of the clubhouse assistants clean out his car for him. Manny tried to tip the assistant with one of his uncashed paychecks. His teammates had to intervene and tell him "no."

First time I'd heard that one but had to laugh.

Makes you wonder how much the Marlins have left to address some other needs...

As a Mets fan, I am sickened by the Mets letting Reyes walk to a division rival. Is he worth that contract? No. But a NEW YORK "big market" team has to re-sign a homegrown, stud product like Reyes, period. Until the Wilpons sell the team, or die, I am officially done. Citi Field will be a morgue next year while these bumbling assclowns continue to nosedive this franchise to new depths.

Ohio Chatter, pick my new team. I am thinking the Cubs, I like Wrigley, and I didn't miss anything by not being their fan the past 100 years.

Well, if you pick the Cubs, it gives me (a Pirates fan) someone to openly mock. So I say you should do this!
