I believe Struthers will win this district but don't let that 40 point spread fool you.Struthers shot 72% from behind arc ( 18-25 ) I would be hard pressed to think they do that every game.Going forward Struthers is still the class of this district based on teamwork and coaching.

I agree. Good spacing, unselfish play, talented kids. Hopefully Salem catches them on an off night tomorrow.

Will Salem be at full strength.Saw against Alliance couple guys out/hurt.I think Salem has potential just not adapting to the new system as quick as hoped.
Spacing is or may be as important to any team.If you keep good space and run a consistant and patient offense and I do not mean a slow down offense just patient you will get good looks and be more successful.Struthers seems to have mastered those above points you make Oats.

The 40 points was a big number and will not be that bad in the tournament. People like to tend to say struthers with their 3 ball. Last saturday struthers played a very big and very athletic strong vincent team and went at them the whole game and came away with a 12 point win.

Salem beat West Branch last night 68 - 50, and both teams go at it again tomorrow night in round 1.

Would like to see Salem vs. Struthers again, although obviously we are at a big disadvantage having lost our top player to injury.

Poland beats Struthers. Struthers showed the other night that if they can't get shots off then game gets sour fast. No inside game is a major set back to any team. Just watch some film and you will see that if the 3 is not falling it is all they know.

What a joke. First of all Struthers has the best big guy in the league. Ryczaj is only 6-1 but commands the glass as evidenced by a 13 rebound performance against a 7-4 kid. They played the number 16 team in the country and were down 3 at the half. Poland will get killed again cuz ur boy grisdale will still have 2 big of an ego to get out of his sucko press

Ravenna beats Hubbard and moves on to face Poland for the 7:30 game. Hubbard didn't appear to have wanted it last night.

Struthers will not lose to poland. Struthers takes the ball to the hoop as much as any team in this area and does it well. Your going to say that any team in this area woulda been able to drive the ball against huntington prep? Also do you think any team in this area esp poland can keep up with struthers quickness? 40 points was no fluke they will handle poland if poland even makes it there.

A 5 point game at halftime, but the Quakers could not get anything going, and couldn't buy a 3 ball. Great experience for all the soph's in the Salem rotation -- good things coming the next couple of years. Good luck to Struthers the rest of the way.

Whether it's Ohio Chatter, Yappi, Freehuddle or JJ's, you are one of the most respected and knowledgeable posters I've seen.

People better NOT look past Memorial because ever since they played the Cats and... got all their team back, they have played very well. Also, all season long they have played way better competition than the other teams in Salem except for possibly Manchester. They are very athletic and also well coached.

My hope is that both Struthers and Campbell make it to Canton.

So here's the question of the day. Poland or Streetsboro? I honestly thought Poland would get to the title game and lose to Struthers, but after seeing them both last night I think Streetsboro has to be the favorite. The big kid is a force inside for them and without Patton they only have one guy that can score and their press isn't as good. I'm gonna go Streetsboro 64-58.
