You're thinking of Connor Atchley, and no it was not him. It was Justin Mason.

Box score from USC's 87-68 win over Texas. 3 pointers aren't listed, but based on the math, Nick Young hit 6 of them.

Nick Young did not hit 6 three pointers, the team only had 6 total. He was 2-3.

According to this box score, Young had 6 3's.

it reads: 6/10 from the field, 4/4 from the free throw line for 22 points.

Not sure what's wrong with ur box score, but the other one is correct. Yours only lists 2 pt FG under the FG. They have a separate colum for threes, which isn't on the link. Young was 2/3.

Thanks. I was thinking of him, and now memory has me going back in time and I remember being mad he didn't start. I kept think Durant as the 3 all game would be sick and Barnes never did it!

That link also has Abrams on the bench.

Young was 8/13...2/3 from 3, 6/10 from 2, 4-4 from the line for a total of 22 points.

So, Laley, do you think Barnes underachieved because he couldn't get title with Durant?? Was Augustine a freshman that year??

It's not because he didn't win a title...it's because they went 25-10. Either way he's a solid coach

What should their record have been with a team full of underclassmen? They didnt lose to a team that finished with under 20 wins.

Good point. They lost to Kansas (3X),Michigan State, Gonzaga, Tennessee(OT),Oklahoma State(3OT),Villanova, K-State,and Texas A&M. They had one home loss. That is pretty ambitious schedule, just look at the (4) OOC losses.

No, not at all. Texas was about as good as the 4 (or was it 5) seed they were given. Durant was the best player..but he had freshman and a SO playing the bulk of the minutes with him.

He has what? 3 elite eights? and a final four...he still underachieves though, at Texas you gotta do better than that with how much help is on your side with recruiting, facilities, etc.

At Texas maybe, but Im sure Providence and Clemson miss what he brought to them, even if it was marginal success...it was success lol.

For the talent he gets year in year out at Texas, maybe he should be doing more. But then again, Final Fours are plain hard to get too. He still has a FF, and 3 E8, as well as a S16. He has been at Texas for like 12 years and has 4 R1 exits. Ill take a R1 exit if it means the other times Im getting to the E8. I know 4 doesnt equal 3 but you get the point. 1 of the 4 R1 exits was in year 1 at Texas as well.

Is he a K, Izzo, etc? No, he isnt. But Im not sure his faults are any worse than Self, Weber, etc and their early exits in the NCAAs...

Weber is about to be on his way out, if they don't make the tourney this year isn't he??? I mean people at Illinois have to be FURIOUS that he isn't more successful with the Chicago recruits in your backyard. And Self, well he has a national championship. He also has finished 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, and possibly 1 this year, at worst 2 in the Big 12 since 99. Yes, he has had some issues in the first round, but his title year and big 12 success more than covers that up. Barnes has what to cover up? 1 Final Four? In which he beat a 16, 9, 5, and 7 seed to get there...then got beat handily by Syracuse in the FF.

I was strictly talking tourney success. Self is 10x the coach Barnes is lol. But in temrs of tourney success, take away the title (I know I know) and he has lost early on quite a few occasions. You could throw Ryan into that mix as well, and I LOVE him as a coach.

Self might not have been a great example, but I only used it because he seems to either go far, or lose in R1/2.

Poor Texas. Their identity as a basketball program is so out of whack. Two weeks ago there was debate if they were the best team in the land. Now they suck! Some think Barnes is a hell of a coach, some think he sucks. Some think their talent level in incredible, some think they are on par with other top 20 programs. Man, what a confusing program!

Yes but whats better, losing in the first round or not even getting there? Self and Ryan have gotten there every year, so yes they have a few more chances for an upset. even Coach K has been upset in the first round, it happens when you get there so many times like K, Self, Ryan, and Barnes.
