Someone's head had to roll after this years pathetic performance by the offense.
The right one did......so long Brat. You will not be missed.

Worst 3rd and short offense in the league. Did I mention we didn't have a fullback until week 7?

I think its a safe bet Carson will be back now
Ken Zampese probably gets the OC job now.

I do wonder why Marvin publickly courted Brad Childress though.

Yessssss! This was decided a couple weeks ago, just didn't want to do it til after the senior bowl. I don't care if they hire Jordan Palmer, anyone is better than Brat.

I saw the mention of "outside hire" as well. That is a bit surprising. I doubt Jim Zorn gets the call, but Brad childress could be a name we hear.

smh. If you are going to fire him, do it when everybody else is firing coaches! Now we are going to have to settle for leftovers.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad they fired him, but stuff like this reminds me why people call us the Bungles.

This is totally a CYA move by Mike Brown. He has received a backlash and criticism of late from season ticket holders, corporate sponsors, the local and national media, his current players (most notably the QB), former players, heck I bet even the ghost of his father visited him along with three other ghosts on Christmas morning as well. He really had no choice but to make a move hear and firing Bratkowski was the easiest move. He is still not going to cave in on the other pressing issues though (ie. increased scouting, a GM, an indoor practice facility, etc.).

Everything I've heard so far indicates Zampese will be the guy.

Everything I have read is it will be an outside candidate. Jeremy Bates, Tom Clements ( GB QB coach) or Joe Lombardi (N.O. QB Coach) are on my wish list! I have also seen Norm Chow mentioned quite a bit but it would be hard to believe him leaving Utah after 8 days. I could really care less I hope its not someone from within as it will probably be the same crap but just getting rid of Brat made my day!

LOL I love the elation among Bengals fans, like this solves all of their problems. Bratkowski became a scapegoat that Bengals fans talked themselves into being the entire root of the problem.

Good luck filling yourselves with false hope for another season! Can't wait to hear the excuses next year!

No hope here! Evidently you don't watch the Bengals or you would know Bratkowski is a terrible OC. If I can predict about 50% of his play calls just think what a DC can do when they get all week to prepare. It doesn't solve anywhere near all of their problems but it is a step in the right direction.

You mean you don't want a guy who runs the ball every 2nd and 10 and throws the ball every 3rd and less than 3? :)

Everyone knows Brat isn't the only problem, but he most certainly was a major one.

ok this guy never watched Bengal games. This I am sure of. If he did actually watch football, I question his understanding of the game. At no point over the past 2-3 seasons would anybody try to argue that Bratkowski has been doing a good job. His playcalling was extremely predictable and the offense looked lost all season.

Do Bengal fans go on Browns threads and act like they know everything about the other squad? There sure a bunch of guys up north who likely haven't been 10 feet from PBS who seem to know how many people attend games, who buys merchandise, how the Bengals are followed in Cincinnati, all about the Bengal coaching situation, the management of the team, etc.

OK, to be fair to Mooney...he lives in Cincy. So no, he does not watch Bengals games. He can't.

Jesus, a fucking minor league coach for a minor league team.

I love this line: Gruden fits the player-acquisition profile that the Bengals have used in recent years. He was arrested for DUI in 2005.

wow, I have to wonder if Marvin is calling the shots here or if this is another Mike Brown hire. Someone pull back the veil of this franchise, my fandom is hanging in the balance.
