Apparently this beer is sold at some Walgreens stores for $2.99 for a six-pack.

Anyone tried this stuff?

Never seen it at the Walgreens by my house but I would imagine it tastes pretty shitty.

Never heard of it, but when I was in college we drank Jacob's Best and that cost a whopping $6.35 a CASE!!!! That was some pretty bad stuff, but for the money, it was like a sore peter!

Hahaha. That's great that you bring up Big Flats!

When I was in Ft. Lauderdale at the beginning of the year we had a night in but the guys still wanted to drink. So we ran to Walgreens to pick up some booze for them and settled with the Big Flats as a joke. They said it wasn't awful. One British guy actually liked it a decent amount.

I don't drink, so I can't say much about it. But the guys drank it and no one really complained that it was awful.

I'll try it. For $2.99 it's worth a shot. When I'm buying a case of beer I usually go for Busch Light so if this is comparable I can save a little bit of money.

They have a faux-Warsteiner that's not terrible.

I was at Trader Joe's a week or so ago and they had $2.99 six packs of a beer there as well. I forget what it was called but it said that it was brewed for them by America's second oldest brewery. Not that it means anything.

This was featured on an NFL Jamboroo post on Deadspin a few weeks back.

BIG FLATS LAGER! From reader JohnnyDakotaStateU comes this beer that looks like it was created strictly to be a design on a $5 Old Navy t-shirt.
"$3.79 for a sixer at Walgreens. "It's the water that makes it." Makes it what? We'll never know."
It's the water that makes it so watery! Duh! That's an amazing can. Just a huge clusterfuck of bad fonts. And the water wheel! It's like someone stole it from a riverboat. I love the GENUINE BEER note on the bottom. Because so often, I'm tricked into buying imitation beer from Haiti. They also crammed a mountain into the background. Mountains are crucial, as always. I MUST HAVE IT. I feel like playing Oregon Trail when I look at that can. The graphics are about on par.

Trader Joe's has some legit beer. Their vintage ale is good stuff.

Can't bring myself to do it.

Had a bottle of Three Philosophers last night. Good stuff, but nowhere in the ballpark, price-wise, and probably nowhere in the ballpark, taste-wise either.

Six-Pack of Keystone tallboys is $4.99. That's actually 8 beers. Yum.

Ooooooooh ...

Had an aged Brooklyn Monster Ale the other day. It'd been aging for a year. Had a couple when they were first purchased, and then one a year later.

Completely different, and delicious a year later.

I'm currently aging a couple Founders and Unibroue, as well as a couple others down there. Really yeasty ones. I'm stoked.

I bet there are gas stations that sell 6 packs of 18 oz Genesee for $2.99 in your area.

Not that you'd really want it.

I have some Great Lakes Eliot Ness and Commodore Perry in my beer fridge right now. Really like those.

I actually almost picked that up this weekend, but haven't tried it yet. Instead I tried Goose Island Pepe Niro and Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Wild, both very good.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout perhaps? Amazing with some time on it.

Nope, about the closest I can get is a 3 pack of bud tall boys for $5.
