Founder's Double Trouble tonight.
Also picked up some Enjoy by 5.17.13.
Grabbed bottle of Fatome Saison. Never tried it. I only bought it since the Jungle only got a total of a case if it. Anyone else ever tried it?

120 from a growler. Heavy. Very citrus, can taste the alcohol. Not sure I like, will have to wait until my bottle ages and try again.

DFH 120...It has been years since I had it. Maybe 2009 or 2010. I remember it was quite different and heavy in the alcohol. Shared a bottle with The Wife then went nite nite. We did have several beers earlier that evening in our defense.

Thanks and mine is the Strange Ghost. I'm kind of iffy on saisons. Probably my least favorite style of ale as some can be overpowering. Even drain poured a couple. From reading the Rate Beer descriptions, it sounds like I might like this one.

Correction. Mine isn't the Strange Ghost, but it is Delicious!!! I will be trying to get more. Nice funkiness on the nose. A little apricotish on the palate. Tart, but not too sour finish. Freakin Yum.

"Maybe she just has bad taste proven by her choice in men." ..../RDI'd
I like this one. Very dry and kind of "winey", but still some bitter hops. Makes me think of Aprihop, only with wine grapes. If you're looking for 60 minute, this definitely isn't it, but I thought it was good. Think it would be really good with seafood.

Love the pairing recommendations! Something I'm trying to learn more about.

Still, it's not bad if it's all that's available, and you're in the mood for something like unsweetened lemonade (always the flavor I get from it). I could see it as a one-off standalone drink on a hot day, but serve it ice cold.

Finished off my sixer of Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye.
As for a food recommendation, I had it with cheese cubes (at room temp), pretzels, and a few carrot sticks. Went well with the cheese and pretzels. Iffy on the carrot sticks. Still, seems good for a small finger food dish pairing.

I concur. Must be Coors Light cold. It was a one off for The Wife tonight until I broke off some different beers. There are still 5 left in the fridge...but she still loves it and will be gone soon.

Made a trip to small brewery around here called Ale Industries. Awesome beers in the tasting room, going to crack their Spring Fling here shortly. But at their brewery, their Gen series really stood out to me. http://www.aleindustries.com/evolution
Gen IV and V were incredible and it was awesome to see the differences between the 2. 4 was like a nice big stout, 5 was like a milk choc porter with a perfect mouthfeel.

then I'd say bring some tastey beers. IPAs are always a good choice for a warmer day drinker IMO.Sonofanump;1431992 wrote:Yes, beer snobs amongst the majority of the crowd.

Yep. If you can find a decent witbier, that does the trick, too.Commander of Awesome;1432000 wrote:then I'd say bring some tastey beers. IPAs are always a good choice for a warmer day drinker IMO.
