Had MadTree today for the first time. It was good. Good enough I bought 3 sixers and a Growler of it.

Also picked up some Dayman Coffee IPA, DFH Positive Contact, DFH Birra ETRU SCA, and DFH Sixty-one.

Should be a good weekend.

How is this? Had a 4 pack in my hand earlier tonight but ended up putting it back.

Target had one more 4-pack of Alchemy Hour yesterday. Wife said she didn't want to get it yesterday.

Naturally, I went back to get it today, and it was gone. I didn't even get to try it this past season. Bolshevik!

I'll just say it's different and Pink. Actually I only took a few sips and let The Wife have the rest as I got distracted by something. I want to try it again before I'll go into how good or bad it is.

I just went to the fridge to get another, but none are cold. The Wife put 2 in the fridge earlier and must have drank both of them. Looks like she liked it. I'll try it again tomorrow.

Don't worry as it's no LEM. Speaking of which shouldn't the Lake Erie Monster be coming out within a month or so.

Should be. Good to know that I didn't miss out on something amazing. Still wish I could have tried it at least.

Since I couldn't get the Alchemy Hour, I settled for Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye.

Pretty well balanced. Tastes a lot like an IPA with a little extra spice to it. Grapefruit dominates the smell, with a few other notes that are hard to pin-point because of that dominance. Body is thick, but somehow, it's a pretty drinkable beer. It's not too often that I could have a thick beer after a long day of working outside in the sun, but I think this might do it.

I've never been super high on Sierra Nevada, but I would recommend it for someone looking for a drinkable IPA.

Also, it was very affordable for a sixer.

I like it, just not as much as the LEM.

I just scored a bottle of this. Traded two Hoppin Frog bombers (1of3 Saison IPA & 100th Boris) to a friend in Michigan for a Ruthless Rye, DFH 120, and Lagunitas IPA.

It's like an IPA with a little extra "something." I personally like it with the added spice from the rye. A little bready, too ... moreso than an IPA.

It might be a preference kind of beer, but I'd definitely recommend at least giving it a try.

Agree both are outdamnstanding. But I score it the opposite. Just a matter of different taste. It's all cool and delicious for that matter.

Oh and I'm sorry as I didn't have the Sixty-One tonight. They are in the fridge, but I've had too many other beers to go back to them. I'm trying to talk The Wife to posting her review on here. We'll see.

OK so I had the Sixty-One right out of the gate tonight and...didn't think much of it. Some tartness and some tannings from the grapes, but not much hops for an IPA. Glad I tried it, but wouldn't buy it again. Not really sure what The Wife sees in it.

Good to know. Maybe pick up a single or two to try it instead of the 4 pack.

That's what I've heard. Enjoying a home brew tripel right now. Pleased with the flavor profile, though the color is a bit off.

This. Try a single so at least you can say you had it, but don't break the bank buying a 4 pack. I like DFH and what they try to do with there beers, but sometimes I don't like their beers. I'm sure others will disagree with what I think, but everyone has different taste.

Maybe this beer would be good in a Randall Jr with some different flavors added. I still need to get a Randall Jr or two.

Ive never had anything from Abita. Why I don't know. Well maybe it was their Purple Haze that turned me off.
