IPA guy myself. I've been finding I pretty much only drink IPAs and Imperial Stouts as of late.THE4RINGZ;1206862 wrote:I am more of an IPA guy, but variety is the spice of life.
Question for you ppl with smart phones, anyone have, tried, heard of the App "Untappd"? I just found out about it recently, its an app that traps what you've drank (I often forget if I've had that beer before etc..) can see what ppl are drinking around you, your friends etc... I've been enjoying it.

I have one that does the same, plus it allows you to rate beer. It's called Pintley. Free on Android market (and iPhone as well, I assume).

I concur with your first paragraph. I am recently adding sours though.
I have the untapped app but haven't really used it. Just saw a friend of mine on FB using it, so I downloaded it and signed up. If you get it and sign up I'm WeeceJr on there...(also the same on twitter).

As I promised, here's my picture of Pliny. Pretty damn good stuff, though I like Green Flash's IPAs just as much. Its great, dont get me wrong, but there are other Imperial IPAs out there that are just as good IMO. Def try it if you get a chance though.

I was out in SF Bay Area over the weekend and I made it my mission to find it. I really wanted to find it on tap, but was unsuccessful. I found this at a bar in Oakland called Beer Revolution. It had an amazing selection. Its incredible how much cheaper Stone, Old Rasputin, Green Flash, etc is in California vs the midwest/East Coast.OneBuckeye;1206991 wrote:I missed your previous post and this thread tl;dr. Been on there a little over a month. I like it, kind of like facebook/twitter for beer. Mostly update every time I try a new beer. Username is same as OC.Commander of Awesome;1206867 wrote: Question for you ppl with smart phones, anyone have, tried, heard of the App "Untappd"? I finally found where they keep the Jolly Pumpkin beers at the Jungle. Right next to the New Holland in the Michigan section. Who would have 'thunk' it. I've been overlooking them for some time now. I tried the La Roja the other night. I dig this one with the sour finish. Then I had the E.S. Bam. I expected this one to be more sour than the La Roja, but it was not. I'll be getting more of these real soon.

Enjoying a Smuttynose IPA this evening. Haven't had it in a long time and I'm not willing to drop the $24 on a lost abbey bomber. I really want to try one of their beers but fuck me, over $20 for a bomber seems ridiculous.

Good find. Love E.S. Bam, La Roja is very good too. If they have them I would get Biere de Mars and Madrugada Obscura, two of my favorites from JP.Curly J;1207709 wrote:I finally found where they keep the Jolly Pumpkin beers at the Jungle. Tried to reel my budget in tonight and bought a 12 pack of Amstel Light. Not happy with myself for making that decision.

Yeah I should have bought a 6 of Smuttynose IPA and a bomber of Arrogant Bastard for roughly the same price. Oh well.

Smuttynose costs $8.49 for a sixer here. How much do you usually pay? Just curious.

I paid $9.99 for mine, bomber of Arrogant Bastard would have been $5.99.THE4RINGZ;1208260 wrote:Smuttynose costs $8.49 for a sixer here. How much do you usually pay? Just curious.

One store here charges $9.99 for Smuttynose, but a store down the street charges $8.49, I shop at the latter. Arrogant Bastard is $5.99 for a bomber and $16.99 for a six pack. Although there is a bar that has it on tap, I drink it every time I am there ($6 for a 23 ounce draft).
