I had some Thirsy Dog Christmas Ale yesterday at a cook out at my in law's house. Not so good.
But my choices were that or Busch Lite.

Really? I prefer their Twelve Dogs of Christmas to GL Christmas Ale. It's less cinnamon-y, which I prefer.THE4RINGZ;1203507 wrote:I had some Thirsy Dog Christmas Ale yesterday at a cook out at my in law's house. Not so good.

I had the chance to pick up some Twelve Dogs of Christmas Ale but passed because it surpassed the amount I was comfortable with paying for a beer I had never tried before. I don't think I've ever even seen GL's Christmas Ale.

To me, GL Christmas Ale relies way too heavily on the spices added. Don't get me wrong, I won't turn it down, and I still buy it on occasion, but I prefer others more.bigdaddy2003;1203598 wrote:I had the chance to pick up some Twelve Dogs of Christmas Ale but passed because it surpassed the amount I was comfortable with paying for a beer I had never tried before. I hope to compare them in the near future. I think I will stop and grab some of the 12 Twelve Dogs next time I'm out.O-Trap;1203610 wrote:To me, GL Christmas Ale relies way too heavily on the spices added. I love both. If in bottle I prefer the Thirsty Dog. On tap (especially with that delicious cinnamon sugar rimmed glass) the GL Christmas Ale is incredible.bigdaddy2003;1203614 wrote:I hope to compare them in the near future. I think I will stop and grab some of the 12 Twelve Dogs next time I'm out.

Not sure about 12 dogs, but GLBC Christmas won't come out until November.bigdaddy2003;1203614 wrote:I hope to compare them in the near future. I think I will stop and grab some of the 12 Twelve Dogs next time I'm out.

Lies. You're forgetting all the bars and stores that have Christmas in July things. At least a bunch around me seem to.Sonofanump;1204151 wrote:Not sure about 12 dogs, but GLBC Christmas won't come out until November.

Biggest growth (as a % of dollars) is in the Great Lakes, up 21.1% since last year.
Hopefully this thread helped that increase in the Great Lakes area.
Thanks for the info gorocks.

Pretty sure I'm responsible for at least a third of that increase.

You all should try the Twisted Kilt from Thirsty Dog Brewery in Akron. A great Scottish-Style Ale. You all will enjoy it.

As I promised, here's my picture of Pliny. Pretty damn good stuff, though I like Green Flash's IPAs just as much. Its great, dont get me wrong, but there are other Imperial IPAs out there that are just as good IMO. Def try it if you get a chance though.
