I just choose to support the Breweries that are out there making quality beer for a living...and for me.
Yeah it takes a ton of work and patience, and only makes it that much worse when your beers turns out like shit after waiting 5 weeks. I think I've brewed 6 batches in the past couple years with mixed results. Few IPAs/Strong Ale, Red Ale and a Stout. One a lot of people loved (Reminded me of GL Nosferatu), this past batch I made recently was complete garbage. I missed something along the way and have to go back through.

does the glass really make a difference for beer tasting? I don't have a glass like that, is it worth it for beers like this?

I used to frequent a bar after work a lot, irish pub near by, the owner/bartender is from ireland and said it makes no difference.

Does anyone grill in, honestly? Not attacking you, but i know a lot of people who say grilling out in stead of just grilling. Do you grill inside ever, because that is what's implied by saying you're doing it out. Also, "out" is not a place, where is out?

Lol. I noticed that, too. I got their winter sampler twice because the Chocolate Bock there was an acceptable substitute for their $13-14 4-pack Imperial Bock that I'd have to drive 15 miles to buy. Two regular Boston Lagers in that 12-pack, waiting for me to get drunk to the point I'd crack them open, too. Then I was in Kroger's the other day and saw the Boston was in their spring/summer sampler. Why the fuck do you put your basic generic brand in ALL your samplers, you assholes!!!!???

During the NCAA tournament, one of the people who came to party brought some. I tried one. Kind of thing that was good for one beer, but couldn't see me wanting more than one at a time because of the sweet-sugar-drink feel to it. So I tried a six-pack once and, yeah, I was right about that. That's the thing about most of those fruit/tea beers. The first one is decent, but the sugar just makes me kinda ill after a couple.

You do raise an interesting question. I guess using the word "out" after the word "grilling" in just common nomenclature for working the grill. I suppose you could grill in (I had a friend who tired it once, emphasis on the word "had") and I suppose if you had an indoor Jenn-Air grill you could pull this off.

I guess we do to a point. We cannot have outdoor grills where I live due to State and Local Laws. The Wife has a grill pan she will use for steaks. Even cooking Filet Mignon in it and finishing it in the oven. I'm looking forward to Colorado in the next few days so I can Grill Outside on a few occasions. Or as I missed typed it last year Drillin Out...combo of drinking and grilling.

I imagine it can. I always use the Sam Adams glasses when possible. I do have a couple of other styles of glassware that I switch to dark beers sometimes. I mean there are several different glasses for wine, even different glasses for the style of red wine.

'Ohiya' The city of Fairfield will not allow an outside grill in a Multifamily dwelling. (aka an Apartment style condo). I guess it has to be below a certain size like a very small propane bottle. We are also told it was in the Ohio Revised code too. So the Association just banned them that way there were no issues.

For a lower ABV, it makes little difference. However, as you go higher, the difference can be noticeable (read: not overpowering, but distinct). The glass allows for more oxidation, because a larger surface area of the beer is in contact with the air. It's not completely dissimilar to letting wine breathe.

Having said that, there is no beer whose quality is greatly enhanced or diminished by the glass it's in. If you would enjoy it in a beer snifter, you'd enjoy it in a tall glass, a stein, a tumbler, a wine glass, a Solo cup, a Styrofoam cup, or the empty skull of your enemies. If you're trying the beer for the first time, I wouldn't sweat getting a new glass to do so.

Pre-2002 the ABV limit was 6% in Ohio. Fuck that.
