It would help Hillsdale or Smithville if Dalton could beat Northwestern, Rittman, and Chippewa.

Right , Dalton beating those 3 would be 2.5 more points than if those 3 beat Dalton because Dalton is D6 and the other 3 are D4 or D5 thus Dalton winning would yield more points..
Also the nonleague opponents could help IF they could win some games!

Ultimately, I don't think it will as long as they also beat those teams. If Hillsdale and Smithville both beat Chippewa, Rittman, Northwestern, and have beat Dalton, then they're getting the points from each match of those four teams, regardless of who wins.

Ah! I stand corrected. I wasn't even thinking about that.

And also IF Rittman could beat Chippewa or Northwestern, you would gain 1/2 pt from each as they are D4 and Rittman is D5. IF !

Joe Eitel is late in his rankings this week as he is on his way home from Thailand. Just an FYI....

EDIT: Dont put any credit in that though...as Im oblivious to football, Harbins, Statewide people and the facts surrounding it...

Hope this helps

Riders-
I think Rittman is D5 this year. How would that change the the point scenario?.....1/4 pt? or still a 1/2 pt and the D6 is a typo?

Typo, Rittman is D5, so it would be 1/2 pt.diff.

Dont worry Bobcat14. Anytime You pull your 1's in the 2nd qtr there isnt much else you can do. I also read that Adam Wallace only threw for 60 yards for the game on 4 completions. He was the leading QB in the area. Jon Maibach had no catches and Brady Berger had one...albeit a TD. They were 2 of the leading recievers in the league. That being the case it's obvious Norwayne wasnt throwing. If you're not throwing and your 1's are out that early I think the Cats did all they could. We've all seen big scores over the years. It is what it is. It happens.

I really don't disagree with you mr russel - i was just thinking and remembering some scenarios where all we (dalton) did was run because it worked and there was low risk. We also had confidence in the pass, but confidence didn't win us any games in the postseason. I really don't think the smithies should try and pass more - just win games. I was simply wondering if the lack of seasoning in that part of their game could hinder them down the road.
Mr. Russell;913112 wrote:OQB, You're dead on with that post. And also, like I have said before. The Smithies have confidence in the pass game. The coaches and players do. This question is for everyone on here, as a coach, wouldn't you want to do what you can to minimize turnovers and keep your defense off of the field as long as possible if you could?

I believe Smithville has 3 turnovers this year. 2 of those were Int's during Hail Mary situations. Should be a great game this weekend!

I said "you make the call"...i left it at that!

I offered to meet you for coffee if you want to discuss this further, however you never replied to my message! Hide behind your screen name....cast stones and I'll leave you with this thought.

You do understand that everything that you post on here just validates all I have said about you. Your quote there is something that should make YOU think a little.

Again, where is your credibility? What makes you think that you can get on here and do nothing but criticize a guy who bleeds brown and gold? Don't try to candy coat it and tell me you have shown your support for him on here as well. You can't do both. You can't be in his corner when things are going good, then turn on him when things are going bad. That, my friend, is not being a LOYAL fan.

You said that DeVault was good last year but this year is questionable. What happened??? Did he get dumb in a year? Are you serious? Again, I will ask you...what changes from year to year? THE PERSONNEL!!!!

I am done with you. You are just to irrational to have a conversation with. You will never see the wrong that you are doing by saying the things you say on here. You will never understand the damage you cause by venting your frustrations. You don't think I get frustrated watching the games? I do, however, I keep it to myself and let the PLAYERS PLAY and COACHES COACH.

Let me guess, Bill Belichick was a dumb coach yesterday, right? According to you, he would have been. The fact that his Hall of Famer QB threw 4 picks at the absolute worst times he could throw them was his fault, right?

I am sure Smithville is developing a passing game, but Schrock is still pretty smart about not using it if you don't have to. So far in this season, no one has stopped the Smithies running game and when Smithville fell behind in the Mogadore game, Schrock had a pass play all ready, when it was needed. We may see a few more passes this Friday.

Dude, get a grip.

I have no kids in the school system. I am loyal fan who just thinks you need to be careful of the things you say on these forums. Players/coaches, unfortunately, read these and it really does no good to 2nd guess them.

It is bad enough that they got their butts kicked on a Friday night...don't rub salt into the wound. Coach Z takes it harder than anyone you will ever know. He bleeds brown and gold. He wants what is best for these kids. He has had, and continues to have, A LOT of crap to try and maintain with these kids.

Let's do our best to give him the positive support he deserves. Is that too much to ask for?

Beast: do you realize Paul now has your phone number?

Of course Paul may be easier to communicate with.
