Beast is back from a roadtrip to Indianapolis...went out to the Browns game....Me and my son had a great time...browns won and I didnt comment on all of the senseless drivel. Now dont get me wrong...I could have...and I had some goood stuff lined up...but I took the high road and let you old guys play! ;)

Beast does wish he would lof been with the stooges for the "bloody crawl"...im guess that would have been a good time....

Onto this week....Big game as that ugly green team visits...the upside is...they will be in their white jerseys so i dont have to see as many leprechauns trotting around. Big game for both teams with perhaps the season on the line as far as playoffs go...R-19 is tough to get in....and the leagues non league lack of success is gonna kill us. Bears need to contain Bates....and keep him on his back...load the box and stop the run up the middle....Schrock has been doing thatt since Nam. Smthies need to...Well...LOSE! That is all....

Hope this helps!

caseguy hit the nail on the head....I was not at the game, but talked with a friend from Northwestern and was told the kickoffs were the same ALL night, it's Northwestern's job to jump on the ball....I was told they were certainly not full blown on-side kicks like you see a team line-up for when they need the ball back.
Also, I was told by someone in the press box on Northwestern's side that their adults were yelling racially related comments from the stands ....unbelievable!

and, while they looked like onsides kicks, they weren't, per Coach Harbour.
Norwayne's offense is unbelievably balanced, and Adam Wallace is something else, on both sides of the ball.

I can live with that.....like I said, I wasn't there. I just found it interesting that the comment came from a NW guy.
Here's to hoping the Bulldogs can get things going a little in the near future!

I wanna see Mr. Wallace go up against Mr. Monheim so we can find out who's who in this county as individuals and as a team!

Next two weeks will tell us a lot about the WCAL. Smithville and Waynedale this week, as well as Waynedale and Norwayne and Smithville and Hillsdale next week. I hope that we see some great games, while all of these young men remain healthy.

Should be an intense game in the Creek Friday. Will be interesting to see if Waynedale can slow down the Smithies rushing attack that's averaging a little over 400 yards a game. On the other side, it looks as if Waynedale has a balanced attack with Stanley and Strausbaugh.

If Smithville can hit a few big plays, I could see a high scoring affair (35-28) but Smithville will need to sustain drives, eat clock, hold onto the football and keep the Waynedale offense on the sidelines.

Let's Go Green!!!

Maybe some Smithville guys can tell me, but I went to the game against Mogradore and have a couple of friends that go every week. Why is Bates the QB? IMO he would be better if he was a WR a bigger target to throw to and let the Leach kid QB. Why I ask is Bates stats are not very good at all and when Smithville faced a 4th down late in the game (Mogradore) they brought Leach in the game to QB to throw to Bates and it worked. I know it was just one throw. But if you could have a threat like Bates out as a WR that could make Smithville better. Because at some point if the run is getting stuffed they can look for one on one coverage to Bates. IMO that could really make Smithville tough to beat going into the meat of the schedule.

Patience. It may happen, but concentrate on getting to that point first.

Waynedale is rarely an easy game for the Smithies, and their balanced offense worries me. Hopefully the DBs play sharp and the D-line and LBs gets good penetration. Otherwise, it might turn into a last-man-scoring match. We've won games like that before, but they're never pretty.

I have to say that I was truly impressed with the Smithie RBs this past week. I know it was against a young team, but they all ran like men possessed. One run in particular, Ian Steiner's TD rumble where he broke several tackles ... not arm tackles, but wrap-up tackles ... was impressive. That was the kind of running that the Smithies did back when they were a perennial playoff team.

If those three backs in the stable (Steiner, Hilty, & Shane) and Bates all stay healthy and keep working and playing with a purpose, they're gonna be tough to stop.

That may be, but that was by far the best I've seen him run. Reminded me of the Middletons.

Being from Orrville I definitely give the nod to Monheim in the head to head battle with Wallace. Wallace is tough but he's not Mason Monheim. Wallace cant run the ball the way Mas did on Friday night and isnt nearly as fast. Ive seen Norwayne play and they are outstanding but they are much more than Adam Wallace. Mas is a D1 talent...Wallace isn't. The night I was at Norwaynes game Wallace threw for a ton of yards. His recievers caught everything he threw. I think one of them had close to 200 yards on the night and he worked his butt off for all of them. Many of the passes were behind the guys or on the wrong side and they came up with it anyway. Make no mistake the QB makes it all go but Norwayne is loaded on the offensive side of the ball. They pass to set up the run. The db's are 12 yards off of the ball. That sure makes it easier to run

Not sure if Bears can stop Smithies, but unsure of Smithies "D" Should be a good game to watch, but I see Smithies rolloing on in this one. Their line and running game has played well thus far. I think Bates will make Bears pay by air or with his feet if the Bears overload the box. Could be high scoring if Smithis "D" does not come to play.
