(I remeber reading 1_Beast's thoughts on another forum, good times!;)) I would have liked to watch that Falcon team play in the playoffs...bout half a point shy or somthing. Further back than that the Smithville/Delphos St Johns playoff game in 02 at Arlin field was a memorable game as well, sat on Delphos's side and their fans were less than impressed with how muddy the field was for a playoff game, both teams were on it though....I could probably type all night bout this stuff. Sorry to ramble.
good post! not rammbling at all...thats what this forum is for!!! I am curious though to what game you are talking about reading my "thoughts" on...lol I "USED" to have some good thoughts...curious too to be enlightened a little on my thoughts...lol I bet its comical!

Edit: was that O.J. Nofsingers sophomore year???

Oh Sydfl, that Waynedale/NW game in 2010 was one of the best HS football games I have ever watched. Re-watched on cable several times and it is a classic even though both teams were not very good.

Who will be this week's top performers? There's a possibility that the winning teams will combine for over 200 points this week....that is just crazy to think about. When was the last time the WCAL was like this?

Regional final from 2002, the year Smithville went to the State Championship.

That game was awesome, but the lopsided score made it less fun. The GOOD one was the regular season game between the same two. That game was pure electricity from beginning to end ...

I was at both of those games...they were very fun to watch. The regular season game was the fake punt late in the 4th to help smithville win on the tiger fade correct?

I have to admit from 2001-2003 I went to a lot of WCAL games because Orrville sucked, lol got to see a lot of good games and county players though.

Correct. Tiger fade to Beichler was regular season. Smithville ran over Dalton 35-8 in the playoff rematch at Orrville.

On a side note, I've been to a fair share of Orrville playoff games that rank high on my excitement list. The 99 playoff game at Fawcett against Copley, when Zwick and company won in OT and sadly, the Poland Seminary game when the Orrville receivers caught a case of the drops. If I remember correctly the Hoban game that year was fun as well.

Yeah the Copley game was fun, because the rumor was they had their rings already picked out and ready to order.....they were crying like babies when we won in ot haha.

The Poland game really ticked me off because my Dad, brother, and myself stayed back a day from vacation so we could go to it....and we blew that game.

I have been to a lot of the Smithville games over the years because my dad is a graduate. I would have to say Smithville playing delphos at Arlin was my favorite. Terrible field conditions, Delphos looked like they had every boy in the school dressed, and those goalline stands in the weather was just really fun to watch. Don't get me started on the state game because they had that game won....

The funnest game I played in was the 2006 playoffs against Tusky Valley....it was 49-0 in the second qtr and our coach had no idea how to go about the rest of the game...lol.

The most points Poland had given up in a game that year was 14 and the Red Riders had 21 at halftime. Then, :(

The Delphos game was by far my favorite simply because of all the turmoil and twist and turns. The goal line stands, blocked punts and horrible field conditions led to the best game I've ever seen. Agreed, we won't talk of the Title game.

I was at the Tusky game and started to regret my decision to go right away. Had broken my foot a few days before and had to hobble up the stands to watch this massacre. Orrville could have scored 100!

Really hoping Dennis can turn this around. Kind of embarrassing to even be seen in the Rittman bleachers lately. Got so bad when Teague was here a student made a home-made shirt that read "Last in the League" on the front and "With Al Teague" on the back.

Well...i hate to mention this....and hope I dont curse my Bears against the almighty Indians....but recently...at my daughters jr high volleyball game, I was able to take in a bit of a Rittman practice.....WTF IS GOIN ON OVER THERE???????????????

Now...I was there early....but what I saw was: 6 different groups.....

1. 2 QB's "spiking" the ball to each other about 15-20 yards apart...???? Just throwin the ball to "bounce" it to each other...nto the ground, no passesi.?????????????????????

2. 1 Coach...2 receivers...he tossed them balls..3 yards away...and they had to catch with one hand....they rotated....(sorry..my 8 year old can do that)

3. 1 coach w/ line running plays...with no QB or WR or RB....or defense... Just firing into blank air....????

4. 1 coach with about 15 kids just standing around.....while 2 kids took turns,,,1 off, 1 def...im thinking some sort of blocking drills...if def got past blocker and smacked coach "5"..blocker did pushups...and vice versa...while 15 kids watched/waited their turn

5. 1 coach with the "hogs" idk what they were doin...as i didnt pay attn...

6.. IDK....LINE size kids behind the building

At water break time...Coach gives an Indian "war whoop" And proclaims "its a good day to be a rittman indian...and a good day to be alive"

Im guessing he is happy with (a) the season, (b) the practice (c) his son....

IDK...im noy a coach but I will say our pee wee practices are more intense/involved and instructional!

Sure hope my Bears pull this one out!!!!!!!!!

Edit: let me say...my kid dont play pee wee...and those "DADS" fire me up.....but i would feel more comfortable with those pee wee dads than what i witnessed tuesday!!!!!!!!

Well I'm sure the receivers were working on those catches to make sure that the QB numbers look good. Gotta love those three yard pass patterns

My favorite play of his at West Holmes was the Shotgun QB Sweep, which they managed to run 9 times for -71 yards against Wooster his older son's Senior year.

I think we're gonna find out what Rittman's been working on. They're gonna get destroyed by Waynedale on Friday then they have Norwayne at Norwayne next week. The Cats are liable to score 100 on them. I saw the area stats in the paper this morning. Norwayne has scored 131 pts and only given up 14. I was at the CVCA game that they won 40-7. The 2nd string was in at the end of the 3rd and the 7 pts they gave up there was with 2 seconds to go in the game with thier 3rd string in. I might go to that Rittman game just to see how much they score

i wouldnt doubt it! i have not seen a practice but i have heard they only go full pads 1 day out of the week!!! how are you going to get any better when you can only go half speed because your not in full pads?! his son (the qb) i also heard just stands around during defensive practice. maybe he should be doing some drills that involve throwing under pressure or ball sercurity!

I could see only going full pads once a week with the numbers he has over there.....but still, you're right.
