Rebuilding once every four years is not too bad.

Both of those kids have the ability to play at the next level. Plenty of talent in the WCAL-a shame more of them dont pursue it at the next level. Has any one heard about WCAL kids going to play in college next year?

From what I've heard, he hasn't made any decision yet and if a kid is playing at the next level most have already made up their minds.

Looks like enrollment figures are out. This is what it has for the WCAL schools:
Link

Chippewa: 96
Dalton: 109
Hillsdale: 140
Northwestern: 173
Norwayne: 179
Rittman: 120
Smithville: 161
Waynedale: 165

Thoughts?

Looks like Norwayne will join Orrville and triway in DIV. Makings of some backyard rivalries.

If Redrum's earlier prediction about Black River and Cloverleaf kids migrating to Norwayne and Northwestern could make for some great WCAL football.

Ringz, I probably ought to confess that I also predicted the Indians would go 162-0 and the Browns would win the Super Bowl......so my prognostications haven't exactly come to fruition.

Chippewa was at 177 the 2 years ago, so 196 could be a more reasonable number, can't see around 80 dropped.

Chippewa listed at 96 for boys and 93 for girls can't be right.

Divisions and Region for WCAL Teams:

Division 4 Region 13

Chippewa
Northwestern
Norwayne

Division 5 Region 19
Hillsdale
Smithville
Waynedale
Rittman

Division 6 Region 21
Dalton

Thoughts? Looks like region 19 is spread out. It extends all the way down to the Ohio River with teams like Portsmouth West.

You're right, region 19 is huge, imagine the 1st round trip, Hillsdale, Smithville, or a Wynford travel own to Wheelersburg for a game on a Friday night! Definitely want a top 4 finish and a home game and not chance the looooooooong road trip.

Thats just like region 14 is. Or at least similar. Clyde hadto travel to Tipp City a couple years ago. At least in 19 you could travel down 77 or 71 to head south/north faster.

Divisions and Region for WCAL Teams:

Division 4 Region 13 D4 172 to 242 boys
Chippewa 189 +18 boys
Northwestern 173 +2 boys
Norwayne 177 +6 boys

Division 5 Region 19 D5 120 to 171 boys
Hillsdale 140
Smithville 161
Waynedale 165 -7 from being D4
Rittman 120 +1 boy from being D6

Division 6 Region 21 D6 119 or under boys
Dalton 109 11 boys under

So Rittman was 1 boy over D6 and Northwestern only 2 boys over being D5

Also noticed that Villa Angela-St Joseph has dropped down to D6 Region 21 with Dalton. Hard to believe that a former D1 school has dropped that far down in enrollment over the years.

sheesh - after seeing that wcl meet yesterday, it sure is going to be hard to replace all that speed in dalton next year.

Your right about that...I'm curious to see what kind of Offense we will run this next year. What we did last year does not fit the personnel we have this year.

my guess is they will move to more of an I formation type offense ( i heard that's what billker is used to running). I would like to see them keep some form of the option though, as most teams are not used to defending it. The bulldogs will be as young and inexperienced as they have been in many a year. Billker will have his work cut out for him this season. As decimated as this team will be by graduation, they do have a couple key guys that will need to lead in keyes, moyer and miller.
