Who do you think the Indians are going to beat madman? It sounds to me like they lost a ton of good players. I guess the non-league schedule may give them a couple wins. Who do they play outside of the league?

When this thread started I would have said yes to the Smithville playoff chances but the more I hear the less I think so. Most of what I am hearing about Smithville now has been negative. I spoke to the father of one of the players who starts for them the other night. He wasn't overly opptimistic. He thinks they'll be decent but won't contend for the title. I also hear that many Smithville people have had it with Shrock and want him out. This "win one more for the coach" thing is a cry from players past not so much players present. That's just what I'm hearing.

I understand a lot of people thinking the Dogs will be down this year (Im not picking on you demoralizer..... Ive heard the same thing from some Dalton people). I think to me the biggest question mark in the league is Dalton. Cause people see that we lost all of those good players and think that we have this year won't cut it. But there are some solid guys playing for the Dogs this year. Moyer could be a first team all league at whatever he plays (I don't see how he is not the QB). I also like Moyer and Keyes at LB. Keyes was just starting to play his best football at the end of last year. Also I think that Raines, who should be the starting RB could be a very solid player for a Sophomore. I like what I saw from him in Varsity and JV action. Also Ive heard the coaches say that this years line could be better than lasts years. So I think there should be a little more hope in D-town then there currently is.

I hope it's at Triway.....
That means TROPHIES!
I hear even the fans that show up will get trophies!

Since there isn't much to talk about WCAL wise we should discuss this rep power thing. I see I have a 1 and have been written up multiple times. I'm predicting that score will only drop as the season progresses.

I'm also predicting the same fate for 1Beast, Luckydog, Red Rum, demoralizer & that cat eater Miyagi.

On the other side of the spectrum....
the scores will go up for madman, 1486, Pitman, Mr. Russell & mt1514.

the wildcard is 4Ringz....he posts so much, he'll never get zapped enough to effect his rating.
Any thoughts?

I dont want a trophy...I want a pony!!!!

I have a few write ups....but does that really merit me being listed 1st on your list...lol Now THATS REP!!!! Onto the wildcard...I think you are on to something....Im going to start just posting everywhere, using 4ringz gameplan....then, I too, can offset any penalties!!! BRILLIANT!!!

After this week, we should be able to get some chatter going after scrimmages get evaluated....armchair quarterbacks calling the games, projuecting more acurately how the season may play out.

I will not be at the Northwestern/Wooster/Triway scrimmage. Free tickets to the Indians/Twins game on Mike Hargrove bobble-head night, 15 rows up behind the 1st base dugout. :) I'm sure I'll hear all about the scrimmage afterwards. And what the heck is Rep Power? Haha. And how do I know if I've been "written up"? And what does that mean? I'm confused. I must have missed something over the long weekend.

It should have red at Triway WITH Wooster. It had been a long afternoon of yard work and Budweiser. Not that any of you have made typing errors. (See Beast's "projuections" above).

I don't understand the whole Triway = trophies thing, I know you have mentioned it before. I have had two kids play football there for a total of eight years, and one kid wrestle there for four years. Other than their varsity letters, and a PAC Championship plaque they have never recieved any kind of trophy. Just curious if I am missing something. Now we do have a ton of tee shirts, are those what you might be talking about?

While I am on the topic of things I don't understand....This whole rep thing. I read the explanation a couple of times, and it still makes no sense. I will just go with the flow. Although I do notice my rep is larger than most of yours. So,....Scoreboard!!!!!!!!

And Beast is correct, Saturday evening and Sunday we should have this entire WCAL season figured out after seeing a couple of teams scrimmage. I am sure we will all be spot on with our predictions. I will go out on a limb, and predict Chippewa to finish 8th overall.

Well, I am off to Youngstown for three days, wish me luck.

I believe Bloody Toothbrush was trying to reference the whole "Competitive Balance" thing. Woo hoo!

This thread has grown very quiet recently. What happened to all of the Smithville people? This thing was fun to read a couple weeks ago. I did hear one little piece of info. I heard that Hillsdale and Norwayne were locked in a tie during a 7 on 7 at Ashland last week when they got pulled off of the field because of the weather. Both teams had scored twice. I am also hearing from several people that Waynedale is going to be much better than what some people are predicting.

Waynedale will be a whole lot better this year. All the substitution last season will pay huge dividends this fall

Not much to talk about. Smithies have 2 scrimmages this week, the 10th with Loudonville and the 12th at Ashland Crestview. Your hear a little more chatter then I'm sure.

Im not sure Waynedale is going to have a team this year....Im thinking we may put all of our efforts into X-country, Golf, Soccer and Band....Just mark the Bears up as a battle for the basement with Chippewa....:) (I mean I could be wrong....I'll ask around)

Norwayne and Hillsdale are your pre-season Favs with Smithville trying to "win one for the Gipper"....

Edit: for Clarification, George "The Gipper" Gipp died in 1920...it wasn't until 1928 that Knute Rockne utilzed the motivational speach to upset undefeated Army @ Yankee Stadium.

Uhmmmm not to nit pick, but didn't the Gipper die before the big game?
