On the topic of Football-

I see rain is in the forecast starting tomorrow. Anybody want to adjust their high scoring predictions on Smithville/Waynedale?
I'm sticking with under 40, something like 22-16.

On Northwestern/Chippewa. I see a Husky victory but not a blowout. This might be more of a game than some expect. The Huskies are young and beat up. Their self confidence can't be high. Chippewa probably has the same problems but they have the advantage of playing at home.

The other 2 games will be over before halftime.

On the topic of relationships-

My wife & Bloodys gf have now cancelled all future play dates for Bloody & I. $50 bucks says Bloody can't escape the leash solo before christmas.
And Miyagi, he's MIA. I'm guessing shallow grave somewhere near Wooster marked by a broken saki bottle.

OrrQB- Don't follow Ringz advice and never, never, never under any circumstances think you'll get away with telling your wife or gf that drinking keeps the relationship healthy. I'm guessing Ringz is no stranger to the couch and his hand.:)

Beast- "Climb a pole?" What do you do if she takes said pole and starts bludgeoning you with it. That's the situation we were/still are in. trust me......lines were crossed and it was bad.

Man, I feel really bad for Red Rum and BT .......well, not so much Red Rum, because Bloody works for the railroad and pretty much anything he has to say is OK with me! And Miyagi MIA? Again, what a shame! ;-). Looking forward to tomorrow night's WCAL results!

If it does, that will be the first time it has worked.

I heard the Indians all the way in Orrville tonight. Sounds like Chief Dennis have young bloods ready for war!

Well the only game that matters this week is W v. S. The game will be won up front with these teams. Pretty much a push at QB (That is just b/c of style, Stanley is becoming solid) This is the same with the backs and WR's. The offenses really neutralize these positions when comparing the two. The issue I have and the only area capable of comparing is up front. Sounds like Sville is healthy up front. When I saw them earlier in the year, I thought Sville wasn't that good. They were big, but technique was so-so (played very high, no drive/physical) From the sounds of it this has been improved greatly. From what I know about Wdale (Which isn't a whole lot, just what I've seen over the summer and heard) they aren't the typical Wdale lines with size, speed, and strength. They are pretty young too. I just feel that Sville will win this battle. Sville will overpower on the lines and Wdale won't have the athletic ability to make up for it. If Stanley can get the 3 step passing game working and Coach Z can keep Coach S's Defense off balance, it may open up some opportunities for the O line to be successful. Looking at the other side of the ball, the D-line of Wdale has to be able to somehow keep the LOS or at the very least don't let Sville get hands on the LB's.

I just don't think Wdale will be able to do what it needs to do consistently enough to win up front. I think the Wdale line is a year away from being solid enough to play with the bigger lines. Plus another year in the weight room with Coach Z doesn't hurt either.

As much as I don't want to say it.... Smithville 28 Waynedale 17. Smithville grinds it out. Waynedale gets a couple big plays to keep it close but gets worn down up front and gives up a couple 2nd half scores.

Im afraid you may be right on the outcome...but with my Gold blinders....Im calling shenanigans....Big game by Strasbaugh and B Miller along with the leg of Lorenze...Def has to step up....smaller quicker def line of waynedale shoots the gaps and disrupts the backfield....strong linebacker play. Bears win by 3 or less...

The Smithville/Waynedale game is going to be a good one. I think this is one of the "big" games that the Bears can win, but then may have some troubles the next few weeks with Hillsdale and Norwayne.

I think the team with the ball last is going to have a game winning drive.

Thats where I mention the leg of Lorenze!!! Bears may kick often to get points on the board...kid has range.

A good kicker is always hard to come by in the high school game. Consider yourself lucky to have that additional offensive weapon.

Just looking at the numbers in all the divisions and regions. There are still 113 unbeaten teams total in all divisions, tops are D1 with 24 and D5 with 27. The most in any region is Region 19 with 10 unbeaten teams. Of the 113, 9 are not in the top 8, and again Region 19 has the most with 3 of those 9 teams, and is the only D5 region with unbeaten teams not in the top 8 , and 10 of the total 27 D5 unbeaten teams. So Region 19 is a very tough region this season.

Looking at the top 8 spots in all regions there are 4 teams at 2-2 in the top 8. In D4 Oak Harbor is 2-2 and 8th in region 14, Shadyside 8th in reg, 21, Warren JFK 6th in reg 21, Dalton's region, in fact there are only 6 teams total in region 21 better than 2-2. Also at 2-2 Convoy Crestview is actually 4th in region 22.

On the other end, there are 108 teams still winless, the most in D6 with 27 winless teams andd 11 of those 27 in region 24.

NW has all kinds of issues...seems not many like to hear coaching is an issue on here but these coaches have got to motivate and find a new play besides the one they run 70% of the time. Turmoil in the locker room as the finger pointing is rampant from what I hear. Coaches stand by and watch it fail. Morale is down for sure andnot sure when they might recover.

2 QBs that have been out this year so far are finally back under limited duties. I believe the shear determination not to get beat by the Chips will be enough to pull this one out.

Is this not the same head coach they've had now for 10 years, and who has seen this Northwestern team through some great years? Seems odd that coaching would suddenly be a problem.

Gonna be a wet one tonight. What team gains an advantage in the Smithville v. Waynedale game due to the weather? I will say Smithville. They can grind it out when the track gets wet. Sorry beast.

Thut is not the problem. His supporting cast is suspect to say the least. He is under some pressure. This team is very young and in awe of the friday night lights. The rest of the league for the most part is battle hardened. Thut also is now coaching alot of his friends kids-and that doesnt necessarily mean they are the best 11.

Also when it is wet it is tougher for Smithville's guards and tackles to pull in the wing-t offense, as well as all of the misdirection to occur, so it could be a negative to both teams. Probably moreso for Waynedale though.
