I am a norwayne fan and I saw this coming a mile away. Those kids have been told since 8th grade that they were a superstar team and it finally got to their heads. Norwayne asked for it and smithville gave them all they could handle and much more. Smithville came out and showed them how to play football. They outplayed outclassed and outcoached norwayne tonight. I hope the bobcats can get back on track for a W next week. ( As long as a certain player gets to stand on the sidelines for real this time).
This is a flawless post.

I was really looking forward to seeing Norwayne in person in the playoffs to see if they are the "real deal", and maybe this loss will light a fire under their rear end and make them even more hungry to prove something in the post-season. But they still have a big game next week for a share of the WCAL.
We saw tonight what a team can look like when they fight for their lives.
To the Norwayne Bobcats, in the words of Gene Hackman, "Up until now [Hillsdale] hasn't been afraid of you, and they should be, because you have a powerful weapon working for you. There is no tomorrow for you, and that makes you all very dangerous people!"
Here's my assessment of the game tonight:
First, it was very obvious which of the teams demonstrated discipline tonight. #22 popping off, Wallace's shot, and the lead-with-the-head were all signs of a team that played with passion ... but without discipline. That was definitely a key to this game.
Second, Wallace got hit tonight ... a LOT! You could tell he hadn't been battered like that this year.
Third, the Smithville coaching staff wasn't without its questionable calls. Going for two when you're down 14-13 early in the game? Why?
Fourth, the Smithville CBs were playing a MILE off the line of scrimmage, and with two safeties, they seemed to compensate well. STILL, they got beat a couple times.
Fifth, Wallace's accuracy throwing the ball was a little overrated coming in. Seems like the pass offense consisted of Wallace just chucking it down field and letting the WRs go get it. He's still quite an athlete, but he's not as much of a passer as he is a guy who can throw the ball down field.
Sixth, the Norwayne defense was pretty slow to read the play. Seems like that quick hand-off was able to get through the D-line before the defense seemed to know what was happening.
Seventh, the Smithville defense is still a Jekyll/Hyde. One week, they give up 39 to Northwestern. Another week, they allow just 14 to a team that averages like 50 a game. That would worry me if they were to make the playoffs.
Finally, I was shocked to see that Smithville ran the same gameplan they've run all year. I was expecting some trickery or something.
Can't wait to see the box scores on this game. Seems like neither team had that many yards.
