Here's how bad things in the MAC are right now: In the latest Bracketology Lunardi has Miami has the lone MAC team......as a 16 seed. Yikes.

And the sad thing is that I'm not surprised. The team was horrible in out-of-conference games. When you consider that Miami and Kent have been the best two MAC teams and Miami (who does play a quality OOC schedule) is barely above .500, the MAC has fallen to the level of those conferences that wind up with 15-16 seeds.

Last crossover game was made up last night, East won 75% of the games this year.

The West is so fucking bad.

The MAC has been surpassed by leagues such as the Colonial, Horizon and Ohio Valley and are no longer even close to other top mid-major leagues like the Atlantic 10, Western Athletic, West Coast, Missouri Valley, Conference USA or the Mountain West. You can also argue leagues like the Big South, Sun Belt, Southern and Atlantic Sun are just as good or better lately. It's quite sad how far the MAC has fallen. They used to be a league where the representative coming out would be one to fear in the NCAA Tournament. Today, their representative is rarely even given a second thought.

Still holding out hope Toledo can finish strong and win 1 of their remaining 3 games.

At least the women's program turnaround is complete, they have the #1 seed locked up for the tourney.

Long way to go for the men's.

Nobody in the NCAA Tournament should be overlooked, no matter what league they come from. That doesn't mean the MAC hasn't falled outside of the top 15 and barely cracking the top 20 in-terms of conferences go. There was a time where they were right with two or three other leagues right behind the big boys.

For the second time in two weeks, my boys from Kent lost in overtime. We are the best team in the MAC, but that's not saying much. Kent or whoever wins the MAC tournament will probably be one and done in the NCAA.

Akron/Kent game can't flat out clinch anything for Akron, at least, and maybe not even for Kent.

If Akron would lose to Ohio Tuesday, but then beat Kent... and if Ohio can beat Miami, all 4 would be tied for 1st at 9-5 most likely (assuming a Miami and Kent win on Tues/Wed.), with Ohio having beat Akron twice.
None of that matters for Akron or Ohio if Kent and Miami don't both lose out.

I read on zipsnation, we need to beat ohio, and need buffalo to beat miami. then it would be akron vs kent for the regular season title. could be wrong though. I heard there's a new way to decide tiebreakers this year, seems kind of confusing

Yeah, that's pretty much right. Ohio actually is playing decent now and it's in the Convo, so Tuesday is HUGE for both Ohio and Akron.

I know the tiebreaker between Kent and Miami would go to Miami, not sure how it is if it turns out any different.

Are you sure about that? They each beat the other and Kent has the better overall record.

First tiebreaker after head-to-head is divisional record this year, not overall record. This is the first year for it. Kent is 4-4, Miami 5-3.

1 game left for everyone, Here are the seeds if it began today:

1. Kent State
2. Western Michigan
3. Miami
4. Ohio
5. Akron
6. Ball State
7. Buffalo
8. Central Michigan
9. Bowling Green
10. Northern Illinois
11. Eastern Michigan
12. Toledo

All tiebreakers were broken by head-to-head, didn't have to go any further.

1 and 3-6 could change, as Ohio plays Miami, and Akron plays Kent.
Western has to beat Central to keep the 2, assuming Balls beats NIU.
Could be a little mixing in the middle based on Buffalo/BG result.
Bottom garbage is pretty much set.
