Fisher is a good coach, but he hasnt accomplished much of anything.

Never said he accomplished great things or he is a great Coach. But he is definitely not overrated.

If you have an NFL team right now, out of Coughlin,Shannahan and Fisher who would you want as your Coach?

3 Division titles and 1 Conference title in 16 years hardly makes him a great coach. There have been many coaches who have accomplished more than that over the same time period.

It's difficult to do because there are 10 coaches with 2 years or less of experience right now (and 6 who have never coached a game), so none of those guys (like a Raheem Morris or Todd Haley) would have the resume to back up me naming them. Better coaches for sure:

Guys like Rex Ryan and Mike Smith haven't been head coaches for long enough for me to definitively include them in that list, but I personally think they are both 'better' head coaches as well.

Fisher's resume is about on par with Lovie Smith. I'd probably rank him somewhere between #11-15 if I actually went through every coach in the league.

I think he is a good coach that has to be held accountable for letting the Vince Young situation get out of hand. He will be a HC again within the next 2 years.

If guys like Norv Turner and (up to this year) Wade Phillips could land and keep jobs as NFL head coaches, there definitely is a place for Jeff Fisher.

Sean Payton and Mike McCarthy can't be on that list either because their resume consists of only 5 yrs.
Shannahan can't be on that list just because he happened to be the Coach of John Elway and Terrele Davis and rode their coattails to Super Bowls. Just look at what Shannahan has done post Elway the last 11 years. 1 Playoff win in 4 appearences the last 11 seasons.
Other than Coughlin winning a Super bowl his overall resume is no better than Fishers and seems like he has been on the hot seat of losing his job every year.
same for Andy Reid, his overall resume is no better than Fisher's.

There are not 10 coaches better than Fisher. He is in the top 10, I would rank him at around #6 or 7. You don't stay at one job for 16 years in the NFL if your not a top notch coach, it just doesn't happen.

5 seasons is a pretty long time in the NFL these days. And you asked me to name better coaches, not better resumes. In my opinion they have proven themselves as better coaches.

And if you want to compare resumes anyway, Andy Reid's resume blows Fisher's out of the water. Don't even kid yourself there. Much better winning percentage and TWICE as many playoff wins (in 4 less seasons).

Coughlin's is slightly better than Fishers and the Super Bowl is always a trump card.

Fisher reminds me of Kirk Ferentz from Iowa. For whatever reason, they get praised for mediocracy.
