54-58 record and only 2 playoff appearances over the last 7 seasons. Most overrated coach in the league IMO.

haha, this is pretty funny.....when I first saw this I asked myself why did they fire him this late, then I read the article and saw he is leaving. Bring him to Cleveland....even if it is as an "offensive coordinator" You can never have too many good assistant coaches.

^^^ Fisher was a DB Coach/Defensive Coordinator before becoming a head coach. If he goes anywhere as an assistant, it will likely be on the defensive side of the ball.

Could Indianapolis use him? Maybe Fisher can now get away with wearing a Peyton Manning jersey. :D

Yeah way to pick only PART of his resume. He is 147-126 at Tennesee and that includes 4 years of turmoil while they made the change from the Oilers to the Titans and played in 4 different Home stadiums over that period. His 147 wins is good enough for 20th All-Time. He is 5-6 in the Playoffs which includes a trip to the Super Bowl. Yeah he is overrated.

That is why I said "Offensive Coordinator"....we all know Shurmur is going to call plays, why not add him to the staff. Unlikely though....

I see him sitting this year out and coming back next season with a new gig.

He will land in a solid position in time. He is a solid coach and many teams would be lucky to have him.

Colts should hire him. They might not waste Peytons remaining years if they do. Sigh, and SMH at fucking Jim Caldwell.

There are 16 teams in the conference, and he has been a head coach for 16 full seasons.

Each year, six of 16 conference teams make the playoffs. In 16 years, he made the playoffs six times.

Each year, one conference team out of 16 makes the Super Bowl. In 16 years, he made it to the Super Bowl once.

Statistically, he is exactly average.

Can you not read? He is a DEFENSIVE coach..not to mention a head coach for 16 years...why in the fuck would he a) come to Cleveland b) take a promotion to an assistant coach when he will probably have 5 HC offers by tonight, and c) coach as an offensive coordinator when is a defensive coach?

5 playoff wins and 0 Super Bowl rings in 16 seasons, and he's considered by most to be one of the top 10 (and probably top 5) coaches in the NFL. Yes, that makes him overrated. He's an average coach who has been living off of the 1999 and 2000 seasons for the last decade.

I never actually took a look at his resume. That IS pretty average for what everyone considers a top tier coach

Yeah hard to believe the Minnesota Vikings weren't "alarmed" after 18 years of that Bum Bud Grant.

I'm still waiting for 10 better Coaches in the NFL, heck give me 5.

I will give Belichick and possibly Tomlin but he did take over a stacked team that just won a Super bowl.

The other 3 i got a good laugh out of especially Shannahan.
