Despite the well documented problems Hiland has had, they are in position to win the IVC outright (again) with a win this Saturday night. I think the smart money is on Garaway, but the Lady Hawks looked like the Lady Hawks in the second half of their win last night vs. RW. If they can carry that over to Saturday, it could be a barn-burner.

Thoughts?

C'mon. Find a way. We need you. There might be an outbreak of "not wanting to play against Garaway" disease. I know you don't have the cure, but you have the most experience in dealing with it. Might make a good case study article in a peer reviewed journal. :)

I'll just say that I can't imagine there were two better defensive teams playing each other anywhere in the state tonight. Both coaches took away what the other liked to do. Garaway executed better in the first half, but Hiland, with it's young ones, did better in the second.

This feels so good. After all the toil and grief, Hiland is in position to win the IVC outright. Gotta go. I'm late for the party!

Nice win for the Hawks. Looks like the Battle of Holmes County will be a snoozefest too.

Yep. I expect an ugly defensive game. I will say that WH has more consistent offensive weapons. Hiland needs to play them like RV did. The uglier and lower scoring it is, the better for Hiland.

300, I went bowling yesterday up in Kent. Out of 4 games, my high was 159. I guess I have a ways to go! The guy next to me rolled a 283. I was impressed.

Anyone see the Sunday Times Reporter? We were rofl. A big feature story on what makes the Garaway girls program so successful. Inside was a very brief recap of the Hiland loss which most likely means another 2nd place finish for Garaway in the IVC. Hilarious. I think if they went a little further west, they might be able to find a slightly more successful coach and program. :)

The TR obviously wants those of us in Holmes Co to drop dead. They have not even tried to cover our teams, and what they do print is pathetic. How do you not send a reporter to the game that basically decided the IVC championship? Big Time Sports was there with TV coverage and so was WTUZ with radio in addition to WKLM and The Voice. The Daily Record had a reporter. Seems like lots of people in Tusc Co thought the game was important, but no one in the TR sports dept. I've had it. They aren't getting my buck or whatever that rag costs any longer.

Same here. We'd been getting the TR for years, but just cancelled a few months ago. Their coverage of HoCo was never great, but it's now nonexistent. They don't even post WH scores at all! I'd be surprised to see that paper make it for more than another couple years. They are pathetic. If you don't go to Dover or Phila don't bother.

I was told at work(work in Sugarcreek) that this is Bardall's last year. This is coming from some loyal Pirate fans.

They have the internet in Baltic? J/K...........Bardall has an act? If he moves on it is because his kids are graduated, not that any Garaway fans wanted him out.

I think they're not referring to any character flaw, but the style of slow down play and solid defense that isn't seen as much today.
