Yea, I'd like to see more of that. He has the ability, and the hard closeouts make it easy for him to get by his defender.

No bulging artery here. Just stating the obvious with emphasis. Absolutely not "sloppy", 7 TO's for the game and ZERO in the last 18 minutes.

Purdue shouldn't be any more difficult than Illinois with Craft locked on E'Ttwaun Moore and Sullinger getting JaJuan Johnson in foul trouble.

Agree. And that is the impressive thing about this team, nothing seems to rattle them. Down 8 today, they stayed with the plan. Thats a combination of senior leadership along with a couple of frosh who don't get rattled. Besides Sullinger being that constant force, other guys seem to step up when needed. Diebler hit a bit shot to give OSU the lead and Thomas comes off the bench to extend the lead. And again, the defense stepped up that last 10 min of the game as well.

Didn't Illinois pass on Matta in 2003 for Bruce Webber? Maybe that is why Thad has had their number. It's personal lol.

Agree. I thought Thomas gave them a nice spark with a couple big 3's.

I was worried there for awhile but the defense clamped down when they needed to. Another very impressive win for this team.

Down 50-42 and heading to the bench during a timeout, Jared Sullinger looked at his teammates and said "Don't worry"...

I read that on the ESPN recap.. That tells me a lot about this kid. Dude is a legit leader on this team.

I'm sold on this team. The freethrow shooting improved dramatically and man they hit their shots when they needed to.
They may lose 1 or 2, maybe in against Purdue, but this team should go far.

Oh, and Sullinger is freaking awesome. Love that kid.

I would suggest that Lighty will draw Moore and Sullinger will not get Johnson in foul trouble. Craft has been defending the other team's PG and Purdue's PG is Lewis Jackson. JuJaun Johnson will give Sullinger a great test, if they are pitted against one another. Johnson has great length, which could bother Sullinger and he has developed a lethal face up game , which will present problems.

Sullinger's girth will cause Johnson trouble, but he has been around long enough to know how to stay out of foul trouble.

IMO, Johnson's strength is his offense, not particularly his defense--it'll be ineteresting to see what Painter comes up with to give him help in defending Sully.

to my point, stat line from MSU game: 20 pts., 4 rbds., 1 blk., 1 turnover

Agree. When Craft comes in, he will more than likely be on Jackson, who by the way had a great game last nite vs MSU in their win. Lighty will be matched up on Moore to start the game. BUT, I could see Craft switched over to Moore. To start the game, Lauderdale will be matched up on Johnson. Carrol, who starts but doesn't log many minutes will probably start on Sully, and vise versa. Johnson is a tough match up because he can step outside and shoot it well. But Purdue really doesn't have a consistant player to match up with Sully. If Johnson plays him, he isn't strong enough and Sully will get position rather easily IMO. He may block a few shots, but that doesn't faze Sullinger.
Purdue is a two headed monster. Moore and Johnson are both VERY good and will more than likely get their points. What OSU needs to do is not let someone else get off. Jackson was the difference last nite vs MSU getting 19. Contain the others and OSU will be fine IMO.

Sullinger vs. Johnson! I don't think I been this excited about a big men matchup since Oden took on Roy Hilbert.

IMO that would be Smith--he could be the deal breaker

Craft is the best defender in the B10 hands down.

Totally shut down DM the whole game.

Sullinger looked like a man among boys in the 2nd half down low. He wasn't intimidated by Illinois size at all.

No one has stopped Sullinger, Johnson is more of an off the ball shot blocker. Sullinger's girth will nullify Johnson's length. If they don't give Johnson help he will be likely to foul if he tries to block everything. Sullinger is averaging 10 FT/game.....that's a lot of fouls

Sullinger and Johnson present problems for both each other. Johnson with his athleticism and ability to knock down the outside shot. And Sullinger with his size and strength. Whoever put together the better game likely will be the front running for Big Ten Player of the Year.
