Steubenville down 14-0 with 5 minutes left at home to Akron SVSM, came back to tie it. Big Red won the toss and inadvertantly the player chose the ball. Big Red scores, 21-14, and first play for SVSM is an INT.
This year I saw a 24-0 comeback by Clairton over Taylor Riverside in the PIAA Class A Final, but that was shortly before halftime when the cameback started. Denton Guyer came back from 17 to Longview this year in Dallas in the UIL 5A Semifinal.

We lost a heartbreaker to Westbranch in 94 we were up big and nationally ranked .. alot of people thought we were one of the best teams around and they come back on us I forget the exact score that we were up by but they ended up winning state that year naturally as I was leaving in disgust we almost pulled it off at the end or atleast a tie and I happened to,be standing right behind the goal post on the hill at Fawcett when our kicker kied the ball and it went right over the goal post Iswore it was good as the Big Red plkaers did but was called no good by some blind reff .. totally sick .. it would have been overtime .. anyway we were up big like 28-7 I think tough farm school that westbranch but that kick still bothers me I think we got hosed

greatest one i ever heard of was in texas...at texas stadium...team scored 4 TD in last 3 or so minutes to take lead...then as they do with a few seconds to go they kick off deepp...nly to have other team return it for a TD as tiime expries.....so I guess that was not a comeback as they did not win!
Coldwater was down twice by 21 points....at one point 42-21, to Kettering alter and won in OT like 55-54 or something like that.
St Henry was a State championship game when down I think 21 in the 4th qtr in the early 90s

Coldwater down 21-7 in fourth quarter in 2007 Div.- 4 state championship game against Youngstown Cardinal Mooney, winning 28-27. The win was sealed when Coldwater blocked an extra point attempt with I believe 21 seconds to go. I also believe Mooney was nationally ranked by USA Today at the time of the championship game.

Reno thought he had this game won at halftime and was outcoached the 2nd half.

yeah, tUYCM was ranked in the top ten i do believe. CW used a few trick plays to get the offense rolling, and a Schlarman kid blocked an EP with little time to go.
When tUYCM scored I said they shoulda went for two, and they woulda got it and won. The Cardinals were on a roll that last drive...getting chunks of yards per play giving it to their stud RB. They go for two...they get it..and most lkely win.
Now...as a Cav fan...i was glad they even attempted the EP to extend the game.
As a side note....Cardinals were playing without their starting QB (and he also was their stud DB/safet)

St Henry was desteroying Mogadore. We were getting ready to leave at the half it was so bad but we decided to watch the beginning of the 3rd. Mogadore came back and won the game in multiple ot's.

That was later on. SH was down big, late in 90 or 91 I believe with the likes of BObby Hoying (OSU and NFL), Jeff Hartings (Penn State and NFL), Scott Brunswick (Toledo), Big Red Niekamp (OSU) and maybe on emore DI guy...I forget. THey made big comeback in the 4th I think.

IMHO, that is 1 of the greatest high school football games ever. Chuck Moore (RB) for Mogadore didn't start that game because of an injured ACL. He played some in the 2nd half and he played both OT's. His performance was inspirational.

Here are the highlights of the comeback...

I remember begging my parents to leave. I couldn't take it... We were getting killed and Hoover had this clown mascot on their sidelines that was going crazy. He kept encouraging the crowd to do this "H-O-O-V-E-R Hoover!" chant. It was becoming traumatic for me as a 10-year-old kid. Thankfully, my parents convinced me that we should stay and, well.... The rest was history. That was the greatest game I have ever attended, on any level.

For me (and most other Big Red people who were there or listening on the radio), that was the worst loss of all-time. We were actually up 21-0 in the second quarter and it looked like it was going to be a repeat of what we had done to an undefeated Sheridan team a couple of weeks before. Most people believed that the 'real' state title game happened the week prior, when we beat an undefeated Cols. DeSales team in a thriller. Many DeSales people that I have talked to consider that the greatest team that they've ever fielded (it included future college/NFL star Gary Berry among others).
Basically, after dominating the first 1 1/2 quarters, the entire world flipped upside down and, everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. There was some absolutely awful officiating coming down the stretch, but it should have never come down to that. We put down our guard and, to West Branch's credit, they took advantage. That was a hard lesson never to take anyone for granted.
Here are some highlights from that 1994 Big Red team, which many considered the best team in Ohio, any division.

The hit that Jason Bigsby laid on that kid from Campbell Memorial at 0:30 of the above video was the hardest hit that I've ever seen in person. My goodness... Brutal.

RBA, what an incredible trip down memory lane. I wonder if they have the technology to flash the score as the comeback progressed. Remember Terry played at Iowa and a little with the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals. I don't think there are very many out there that don't think Chuckie Hython is one of the best HS athletes we have seen. But it was a total team effort. Due to work, I missed this game, but did get to listen to it and watch it later. To put it into perspective time wise, all of the kids that played this year were probably born in 1992 or later. You guys are getting old!

click...c'mon now. Atleast give the team you lost to some props. Especially since we have knocked you out of the playoffs 2 years in a row now and how "there was no way" we would beat you guys!
Thats Orrville Red Rider football!
I was at the Mogadore/St.Henry game and the Coldwater/Mooney game....both were classic comebacks, but the Mogadore comeback was unbelievable!

I know this is way old, but in doing an internet search I stumbled on this forum.
Chuck Moore definitely tore his ACL in the semifinals the week before, but he also definitely STARTED the state final game against St. Henry.
He was the one that almost returned the opening kickoff all the way for Mogadore (lead to a FG, Mogadore actually scored first in that game).
He nearly never came out on offense (never played a down on D).
He had just over 100 yards rushing (extremely low for him) and about 50 yards receiving with I think 2 total TDs (1 rushing 1 receiving, might have had 3 total...).
All on a torn ACL (had surgery to repair it a couple weeks after the State Finals...and played baseball that season on a State Final 4 team.
He most certainly started the game though...

I wanna say that St Henry had a similiar comeback in a game or two before that matchup. If not then...it was right aruond that year.
The biggest I witnessed was Coldwater vs Kettering Alter in the playoffs. Coldwater was down 28-7 and 42-21 before winning in 3OT like 59-52.
Most amazing though may be in that texas one...but the comeback was snuffed out with the return. Why didnt they just onside it again????
