Like I said, if he wasn't white, the perception would be different. People see Hillis and automaticall think Alstott.Commander of Awesome;953255 wrote:Sure isn't, he is actually deceptively fast and athletic. He's giving him no credit at all.

I'm not going that far, because he's a more athletic runner and has better vision, but to compare him to Ray Rice, AP, LT, etc. is just delusional absurdity.like_that;953269 wrote:People see Hillis and automaticall think Alstott.
I would say a good comparison would be a more fragile Stephen Davis.

No one was comparing him to those players..simply that those are physical runners who have maintained their physical running style for more than 1 season.lhslep134;953283 wrote:I'm not going that far, because he's a more athletic runner and has better vision, but to compare him to Ray Rice, AP, LT, etc. is just delusional absurdity.

Yeah he asked for examples of physical runner not the talent level comparison. I'd try to spin it too though if it got thrown back in my face that easily.

Browns supposedly trying out some running backs. Hopefully they take a look at former Warren, OH native and UNC Tarheel Anthony Elzy. I think he'd be a great fit for this team right now.

We signed Thomas Clayton. He was on our team for a bit last season and was terrible.

I don't think he's the answer, and I don't think he's going to be a good back up. He'll be Tebow'd.

Seems we cut Brian Failbiskie to sign Thomas Clayton. I'm going to miss his blocking.

Nah, not happy. Actually thought he might be a decent possession type guy but NOT a 2nd round possession guy.SportsAndLady;953911 wrote:They actually cut Robiskie? haha BR will be happy (and rightfully so)
Thanks, Mangini for kicking the team in the dick with your BRILLIANT 2nd round (Robo, MoMass & Veikune)....SMFH

Good way to get me pissed off is thinking about Veikune pick. What a fucking waste. First time I shall that bum in TC I knew. I legit have never seen a worse player in training camp. I think Dawson would have made a better LBer.

Want me to piss you off more? One of the picks Mangini traded down with the Browns current GM (Heckert) went to select Shady McCoy (I believe) while the Browns end up with the Three Stooges. Ummm...Terry, if you're trying to make an argument for McCoy, Alex Smith isn't the best benchmark to use as an example. This fanbase doesn't have the patience to wait 6 years....

The Browns drafting has been pathetic...thank God Heckert is here.
We probably have drafted more starters the past 2 drafts than the combined 1999-2009 drafts.....smh

^ I wouldn't be thanking god about that just yet. The 2010 draft is actually looking pretty lousy, especially if McCoy doesn't pan out. Haden is stud, but Ward has regressed this season, Hardesty is always hurt, and nobody else from that draft is any good.
Although it's too early to judge, 2011 looks pretty suspect outside of the 1st 2 rounds as well. I'll never understand the Cameron or Marecic picks. 2 positions we were actually pretty set at.

Yea I would be hesitant to give Heckert too much credit. Haden is a stud and I like Phil Taylor. But they really need to start improving the roster. It's great to get guys who can contribute, but eventually you need difference makers.

Heckert is very good at evaluating talent and drafting players. He is superior to the past gm's the Browns have had. Yeah these drafts are still being evaluated, but what Heckert has done with the horrible roster he started with is pretty good.....drafting guys that can have an immediate impact and that are actually part of the future of the organization.

I don't get the fascination with him. I'm not ready to write him off, but I don't know what moves he's made that would be considered spectacular.DeyDurkie5;954156 wrote:now you are going after heckertt? You know absolutely nothing about browns football.
