I agree he isn't a piece of shit for it, but it isn't just like he didn't show up, it was HIS cosponsored event. I find that irresponsible and all those parents who drove their kids over there for him and he didn't show. This is all allegedly of course.

My buddy was promoting the crap out of this event (guy behind Fresh Brewed Tee's). It's not a big deal he didn't show. I actually wonder he ever really committed.

Yeah, lets scrap our actual playmaker for an undrafted player who has been on practice squads; so we can "fit" our offense for our coach who's offense ranked in the bottom 5 of the league as an OC. Jesus, and some people wonder why Browns fans suck sometimes

What NFL running back that runs like Hillis has had a bunch of years carrying the ball 270 (Hillis' total last year) or more times? Are there even any other NFL running backs like Hillis? No. Why? Because it's not an effective way to make your career. His playing style is much more like a fullback than a premier running back. If he was such a good fit for us, he would have been extended by now. Your attempt to say my post shows why Browns' fans suck really just shows your lack of knowledge.

Glad to see you've never seen Hillis play. He fits the WCO very well actually. He might have the best hands on the team. Stop regurgitating shit you hear frodo.

I'll ask you the same question. What running back who plays like Hillis has had several years as the feature back, with 270 carries, and been successful? Good luck ginger.

You mean a physical running style? Many fit that bill frodo; Ray Rice, AP; Brandon Jacobs, Thomas Jones, Cedric Benson, LT, Shaun Alexander just off the top of my head. Not sure about Brandon Jacobs meeting your arbitrary 270 carry though.

You're really going to compare the running styles of Ray Rice and AP to Peyton Hillis? Geez, no wonder you want him on our team so badly, you're so blinded by ignorance.

LMAO /discussion. I guess being a student announcer for OSU didn't help muggsy bogues research his facts before throwing idiotic posts out like that.

And you wanted to see what Obendyaaya is made out of. Come on now. I think throwing out physical RBs in comparison to Hillis is less of a stretch than hoping Obendayayadasease can turn into our lead back.

I was waiting for your response. What a poor argument he made. LT? I had to laugh. None of the others are the same, other than Brandon Jacobs, and there's a reason why he splits carries. Hillis is a beast, but he is too physical for his own good. His shelf life is short, and I wouldn't touch him with a 3 year deal. I expected him to have one more productive year, but he may already be done with these lingering injuries.

We don't have any other options at this point. Hillis' running style will make sure he won't ever last as a feature back in the NFL (as evidenced by Commander of CrybabyGinger's hilariously pathetic attempt to name similar running backs, and failing on every single one except Brandon Jacobs who has proven not to be a feature back).

But with Hardesty injured (shocker), and Hillis much more effective as a change of pace or fullback (if he even gets back to full health), we don't have any other option besides Ogbonnaya. Is he our long term answer? I hope not. But he's our best option right now.

LT, Ray Rice, AP aren't physical runners? I had to laugh at your ignorant ass (lol) statement there.

Should we bring up Willis McGehee, Larry Johnson, Priest Holmes? Were they not physical runners either?

I agree that hillis isnt the answer(long term no, short term definitely) but the dude is EASILY the best rb we have. Even if defenses have him "figured out" he is still a MUCH better option than hardesty who cant catch for shit and just doesnt look good at all.

I'd take Hillis 10 times out of 10 over Montario Softesty and his butterfingers. Hardesty is a WORSE fit for this offense than Hillis with his inability to be a factor in the passing game.

With all the ineptitude shown by the offense, it's at least nice to see that this defense has done a great job. It's just a shame that Shurmur and the offense can never help them out. I seriously wonder if Shurmur actually puts together an offensive gameplan during the week or if he's just on the sidelines with a PSP hitting "Ask Madden". It is clear that this guy needs to get an OC next year that actually calls the plays. I know there's not much talent there on offense, but Shurmur is not doing ANYTHING to utilize the strengths of the talent they do have (roll out McCoy, screens to Cribbs, etc.)

Yeah Hillis is actually a great fit for this offense. Edwardesty sucks and has to play better. He's looked slow all year in my opinion and his drops are inexcusable. I hope Hillis kicks the injury bug and has a big second half of the season because the Browns really need him to have any success IMO. He helps in every aspect of the game, from being the best RB, probably the best pass catcher (smh) and our best blitz pick up option as Softesy is pathetically inept in that department.

I dont see why they dont bring back the wildcat with cribbs. Seemed 2 work pretty well when they did it in the past. Or find ANY other ways 2 get him the ball. I just dont understand why he only gets like 2 or 3 touches a game.

What's even more laughable is you try to defend yourself from being a passive agressive pussy, yet you can't even respond to people in a direct manner. Lol at responding to someones post through somebody else. It's even funnier how you try and say you are going to ignore those certain people, yet you still respond to them. Next time you should PM lhslep and ask him to to type out your next response since you are such a coward. That's cute you have to hide behind somebody that finally shares your view in one simple disagreement.

Just because Hillis is white doesn't mean he doesn't share the same style as some of the backs mentioned. I will agree LT is a strech, but Rice and AP are not. We are not comparing the quality of backs, as Rice/AP are obviously better than Hillis, but they are both physical punishing backs as Hillis is. I think a lot of people view Hillis in a different way because he is a white running back. IMO there is no specific type of back you need for a west coast offense, or any offense for that matter. A good RB fits in with any offense, period. I do belive however, it is good to have a change of pace i.e. Hillis' punishing style combined with Sproles speedy style (I said during the offseason we should acquire Sproles smh, especially more now since all McCoy does is dump his passes).

Obendaya232eew is what he is. A practice quality player. There is a reason why he was one to begin with. I hate evaluating guys based on one game, but he has no burst or anything, and I was not impressed at all with what he provided vs the niners.

His play calling would be 10x better if he went about it this way.

This. Wildcat or not, Cribbs should be on the field more often. He is unfortunately the Browns best playmaker. Give him the opportunity to make some plays.

Also as we have said before:

More shutgun and more roll outs.

The major difference between AP/Ray Rice and Hillis is that they aren't strictly physical runners. They know how to avoid getting hit hard (especially Rice). Hillis cannot. Which is why he won't last. He's a great weapon to have, but not as an every down back.

Going back to your quoted part, I wouldn't have mind keeping Jerome Harrison. Blame Magina for that.

You can say that about most RBs lol. How many RBs do you see leaping defenders?

That's not what you said..you said Hillis can ONLY run over people. That's not true.

Sure isn't, he is actually deceptively fast and athletic. He's giving him no credit at all.
