What do you guys think?
Nope. Heckert isn't giving up draft picks.

Those who say # Browns play calling not balanced: They have 101 rushes for 343 yards (ranked 27th). 100 passes for 984 yards (ranked 17th)

I heard a rumor about Hillis for Lloyd. I do not have a link, it came up in conversation at work.

Don't like that mock at all.

Really not a big Kuechly fan. I think he'd be a great fit in the right system (basically, the Patriots), but not what the Browns need. Very instinctive guy but just not a great athlete or explosive hitter.

Also, after seeing OSU-south and USC-east each a few times this year, I'd much rather have Justin Blackmon. Not that Jeffery won't be good, because I think he will, but I think Blackmon is a better prospect coming out of Oklahoma State than Dez Bryant was. I know Blackmon is already gone in that mock, but in that case I probably use the higher pick for a different need (Burfict or an OT) and try to get Michael Floyd with the Falcons pick.

Not that mocks mean anything at this point, or that my opinion means anything ever.

Intersting mock...I hope we get an offensive lineman though in the first 3 rounds.

I highly doubt that mock. I don't see Heckert drafting a WR that high. If Vontaze (spelling?) is avaialble, I don't see heckert passing up on him.

Holmgren needs to step in. Shurmur's handling of this situation with Hillis is beyond ridiculous. Dude is in over his head.

McCoy had another terrible outing with less than 50% pass completion. I'm starting to think the Browns may need to start looking at drafting a QB. I wouldnt be upset if McCoy continues to shit the bed and the Browns took a QB in the first round.

It's hard to tell how good a guy is who is constantly running for his life.

McCoy is not who I'm worried about, it's shurmur and his handling of this team.

Same. I guess I come off as a McCoy apologist, but it's hard to prove yourself when your WRs are shitty, and your O Line is playing like shit. I don't think many QBs in the league would look good with that that personnel. I would like to see what McCoy would do with at least one off season before we write him off. The one positive thing about McCoy is he doesn't turn the ball over. If Heckert keeps building up that defense, we might only need a QB that just knows how to manage the game.

No turnovers and a will to win are basically the only reasons i am liking him so far. He has missed a lot of throws and needs to start changing plays at the line of scrimmage when he sees the play is screwed. It just seems like we need to run the hurry up offense every time. McCoy seems more comfortable in that role.

I dont see why he wasn't playing on Special teams. A 3rd wr can't play WR? Hester still does Punt Returns and he's their #1 WR.

Yes, last week Oakland pulled a fake out of their bag and was successful....that should trigger the ST coach to think that we need to be ready for fakes....the result was 2 special teams TD's which the kickoff coverage was horrible, and nobody even touched Boss. Those two plays gave the game to Oakland, then you don't let your best special teams player be involved on all the special teams? Something has to change. We saw this in Miami and San Diego last season...both of those coaches got fired.

Cribbs not playing STs is a result of Shurmur wanting to use him more on offense and not wear him out. That has nothing to do with the ST coach. The Browns let one return TD for the first time in 3 yrs and before that longest they let this season was 40 yds. I'm not ready to can the ST coach bc of one return by one of the fastest players in the NFL. I'd be like firing a D coord after a long TD drive.

Is it a concern? yes. Fire the coach after one bad game? Absolutely not. You're jumping the gun. Before this game I havent read one poster complain about the special teams. As for you're SD and Miami comparison, that's not even in the same category. SD lost something like 4 long snappers last season and were a record bad Special teams. The browns are no where near as terrible, not even comparable IMO. Miami ST coach was fired at the end of the season I believe, not after a bad game. My advice, calm down. I'm glad you're not the GM.

If Cribbs has to cut down on playing time, I would much rather it be on offense than special teams. He is an outstanding special teams player. He is a below average receiver.

STAT THAT STICKS: 4.46 -- Average yards per play this year for the Browns, which ranks 31st in the NFL. Only the Jaguars (4.28) have a worse average.
