Interesting thread on the OBR about Heckert's history. This is how he's gonna do it peeps...

Sounds like Matt Roth has a good shot at becoming a Patriot.

Per Mary Kay Cabot's Twitter:
"Broderick Bunkley reported to the Browns on Saturday, but the team had some medical concerns, a source said. He was then traded to Denver."

Bunkley wouldn't have started in Cleveland, he will start in Denver. IF he didn't want to be in Cleveland then good riddance.

Kamerion Wimbley just signed a 5 year deal with the Raiders that comes out to about $10 million/yr.

If Bunkley failed a physical and was damaged goods, he didn't get taken behind the woodshed..

I never cease to be amazed at how much money even mediocre players earn in the NFL.

Freed up significant cap room, according to Clayton.

Sounds like Phil Taylor may be FINALLY in the fold and on the field today if he passes his conditioning test. He tweeted last night that he had "good news" and "hoped to be on the field today."

I get regular e-mail updates for fantasy football from a site called "FFToolbox.com" and their lead in story this morning read "Derek Anderson will next throw interceptions for the Carolina Panthers." I LOL'd.

Its amazing. Esp after his hissy fits in AZ I can't believe a team would sign him. I guess this means the pathners are giving up on Clausen?

With the signing of Jayme Mitchell (starter at one DE), and Jabaal Sheard/ Marcus Bernard in the fold, I think if they pick up one more DE to rotate, along with the interior D-Linemen, they could be pretty solid up front. The linebackers and lack of depth scare the shit out of me. After DQ, Gocong & Fujita I think the next in line is Kaluka Maiava...

Maiava, another guy who should be cut right away. We don't have depth anywhere on Defense. When DQ is IRed before preseason again who is going to start at ILBer? CB depth is Sheldon Brown at #2 and then Mike Adams!? I don't know about you but I'm not comfortable with that. I think we'll have to draft Def almost exclusively next season.

11 teams still have $20 million or more in cap room Posted by Mike Florio on August 2, 2011, 8:02 AM EDT
One week into the 2011 spending spree under the new $120.4 million salary cap, 11 teams still have more than $20 million available for the coming season. A source with knowledge of the numbers has shared them with PFT.
Leading the way are the Bengals, with more than $41 million in cap room. The Jaguars have more than $34 million.
And the bronze goes, surprisingly, to the Browns, with more than $30.4 million.
The others are: the Buccaneers (more than $30.2 million); the 49ers (more than $30.0 million); the Chiefs (more than $28.7 million); the Broncos (more than $26.7 million); the Bills (more than $26.5 million); the Bears (more than $24 million); the Cardinals (more than $23.6 million); and the Seahawks (more than $21.2 million).
It remains widely believed by fans and some in the media that the mandatory minimum cash spend of 89 percent under the new labor deal immediately applies. It doesn’t.
While the league as a whole must spend cash in 2011 that equates to 99 percent of the cap, there’s no minimum requirement for each team until 2013. Thus, neither the Bengals nor any other specific team is required to spend another dime — as long as all 32 teams cuts checks this year that equal at least $3.814 billion.

WTF? Is anyone else getting a Browns Team Shop ad popping up with Derek Anderson's jersey in it? Never should have mentioned his friggin' name.

Also hearing that Lofu Tatupu is a shell of his former self. Scout Matt Williamson on NFL Football Today is saying that he has massive knee injury concerns/injuries and that he could hardly run last season. Doesn't think he'll get a deal.

Today, two standout recievers have been Jordan Norwood & Demetrius Williams. Nowood is now with the 1st team over Robiskie.

WR Demetrius Williams is one of the most pleasant surprises of #Browns camp. He's catching everything thrown his way.

Haden with a great pass defense on Robiskie. RoBo still can't get separation to save his life out here #Browns

Auston English & Jabari Fletcher played RDE with first-team defense while Jabaal Sheard sat out. Sheard appears to be bothered by leg

Hmmm...heard the Raiders restructured Kam Wimbley's deal just so they could go after him.
