But....if that's the case, that makes ALL of the Insiders over on the OBR "hacks" too because Lane & the gang were saying that things were "close" between Edwards and the Browns...doesn't make sense.
I'm not saying they are or aren't hacks, just was MKC is reporting. She has a quote from Edwards' agent that the Browns never contacted him and that the Browns wouldn't return his calls. I agree, it doesn't make any sense. How could pretty much all these guys that are pretty accurate on everything else be this far off on the Ray Edwards stuff?

I tend to believe the agent is lying, for some reason. Maybe he has other clients he wants to place in Cleveland and doesn't want to throw them under the bus or whatever, but I HAVE to believe they "talked."

Agreed. Cleveland would've been dumb not to at least entertain the thought of bringing him in. They talked, even if it was long enough for Heckart and Co. to say "get the hell outta here".
What're your thoughts on Antwan Odom?

Especially at the money he signed for. Those figures were a pittance compared to what CJ got in Carolina.
Only way I'd look at Odom is on an incentive laden deal. Too much of a China Doll for my liking....always injured.
I still think these guys are going to do some things. Just don't think we'll get that "splash" that many want at 6pm.

Would you take a shot on Derrick Harvey(cut) or Amobi Okoye(may get cut if not traded)?

Supposedly all picks have signed except Taylor. Being a little greedy apparently.

I think that's one of the problems with teams trading up in the draft to pick a player. You give that player a ton more leverage than if he just fell to you naturally.
Wondering if ATL is having the same problem with Julio Jones.

What about bringing Randy Moss in to help coach our Wr's up and give us a deep threat?

When has Randy Moss ever coached anyone up? No thanks.
They're saying both the Cowboys and Jets are out of the Nnamdi sweepstakes.

lol..not going to happen, but that would be awesome. No superstar quarterbacks in our division, so a lockdown corner would be an awesome thing to have.

eh...defense will be great, but Vick is a tossup as a qb....can't trust him in crunchtime.

I know. I still doubt it. But this helps. I mean, I got them as NFC Champs at 11-1 on a 20 dollar bet. Not losing a whole lot, but I bet those odds are WAAAAAAY down tomorrow.

Good thing we aren't letting that $30+ million in cap space burn a hole in our pocket trying to improve the roster. God forbid we splurge and overpay for just one impact player that can make an immediate difference.
I am fine with the whole "build through the draft" and bringing in low cost marginal free agents thing, but given the division we are in at some point you need to add true difference makers if the goal is to ever be more than a 7-9/6-10 team. That is going to require spending money on something other than paying ex coaches/gm's salaries.
We can't catch a break in Cleveland. We have the Browns with gobs of money to spend and they won't open the checkbook, and the Tribe has tons of prospects to peddle to try and get help but no money to spend.

incarceratedbob is a huge fail when it matters most. the guy put a lot of eggs in the Nnambi basket...this along with the Edwards fail should shut that stupid fuck up for awhile.
