Point well taken.Laley23;844592 wrote:That could be, and thats why I would take the chance IF McCoy wasnt here. I dont think it is smart (whoever you are talking about, sans a top 10 QB) to bring a guy in to compete with McCoy after he has been the man for almost a year.

Browns are in talks with Nate Clements...has Ohio ties. This would surprise me a little. Solid player, but is aging and didn't live up to his big huge contract in San Fran.

I want NO part in VY. However, Jenkins + Edwards + a safety would be nice

Dont mess with Colt's head...stay away from QBs in free agency.
Don't we still have Seneca Wallace? He's probably one of the better backups in the league.

Cut back on that contract, and I'd be cool with it.

Hearing that when Usama Young is inked tomorrow, it's in order to start at FS. Wow.

Don't like this at all...32 years old and has definitely lost a step.

You okay with Usama Young starting at FS for us? Started six games in four years, bleh. Hopefully they're just pullin' my leg.

I think they will get someone respectable at corner and Sheldon Brown can slide into the FS role.OhioStatePride2003;844622 wrote:You okay with Usama Young starting at FS for us? Started six games in four years, bleh. Hopefully they're just pullin' my leg.

I sure as hell hope so. It's why I thought that it was important to resign Eric Wright, one bad year doesn't make him awful but he isn't a shut down corner by any means. Brown at FS is the more logical choice. Haven't heard any rumblings about Donte Whitner lately though...

You can scratch James Jones off the list, appears to be heading to the Vikings. I really thought the Browns should've went after this guy. Malcolm Floyd is also being pursued by the Vikings, but chances are slim he ends up there.

I saw today that they are still in talks with E Wright and the conversation has been positive. Apparently, Holmgren/Heckert aren't as "down" on him as Mangini's group was.

#Browns TE Evan Moore said he plans on signing his 1yr RFA tender tomorrow, when rules allow.
'Eh...that's good, I guess. Jordan Cameron is going to be a solid player in my opinion. Moore is solid as well however.

That's what I mean, he wasn't horrid last year but he wasn't great by any means and I think he understands that. If he can return to 2009 form, the Browns backfield would be solid. If Wright returns, Usama Young (while not starter material) may be the "utility" guy for the Browns secondary... i.e. can play FS, Nickel, Corner, etc.

They will have more receiving weapons than people expect between Watson, Cameron, Moore, Little, Hillis, Hardesty, Marecic & the WR's.
BUT....if I'm a betting man, either MoMass or Robo do NOT make this roster.

I wouldn't be surprised if Robo doesn't. He doesn't exactly fit the YAC receiver mold they are looking for.

This is encouraging I think...

#Browns TE Evan Moore said in retrospect, QB Colt McCoy was "uncomfortable" not being a leader early on. "I think he's himself now."

I think MoMass does, maybe not Robo. MoMass didn't just sit around all offseason. He went to camps, studied the game, and worked out with the likes of Ochostinko, Fitzgerald, etc. We'll see, but I think MoMass could have a break-out year.

The kid is a winner. He's been a winner most of his career. Of course he's going to feel "uncomfortable" seeing the ham & eggers we had at QB, KNOWING that he was better than them (especially Delhomme). Every "winner" want to be "the guy", the leader.

Carlton Mitchell is a sleeper for the Browns. I think he's set to be productive this year but Little will be our YAC receiver. Don't sleep on Jordan Norwood either - kid out of Penn St.Wooball;844648 wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if Robo doesn't. He doesn't exactly fit the YAC receiver mold they are looking for.

This is all contingent on them signing a free agent WR. Really would like Amendola.

I think it's all the more huge because he's our QB. I'm telling you, I don't expect miracles this year, but if we don't take the proper steps forward after all this "hype" this offseason - it's going to be real tough.

I'd love to get Amendola, but even if we do I think Robo is gone before MoMass.
