I'd start to question Heckert quite a bit if he picked up a 228 lb DE (Maybin) who was a failure when converted to OLB.
I liked this paragraph out of all of that....
"--Brandon Jackson played four years for the Packers and never lost a fumble. Nor was he ever flagged for a penalty. He was not a regular until he started 13 games last year, but he carried 347 times with the Pack, so no fumbles lost is something for Jackson to hang his helmet on."

By looking at the first 8 games on the schedule, there could be potentially 6 wins on that stretch. Depending on how the D plays, most of those opposing defenses aren't that great either (CIN, IND, MIA, SEA, SF, TEN). Then in the next 2nd half of the season they could get 2, maybe 3 more wins. So an 8-8 or 9-7 season could happen barring injuries.

For every perceived "positive" there can have it's negatives (old & brittle)...
Can't believe Polamalu is only 30. Seems like he's been around forever.

Just heard this morning that Lauvao will be matched up against Suh tomorrow night. Shawn better pack his lunch or old Suh may have Colt's head mounted on his mantle.

The Lions defensive line will be a good test for our OL. They are solid.

One thing that was brought up that I found interesting was regarding Tressel's visit to Browns camp earlier in the week. If the Browns had/have any interest on taking a "flier" on Terrelle Pryor in the supplemental draft, Holmgren would have a great opportunity to find out the "real deal" about Pryor from Tressel.

I'm in favor of taking a "flier" on Pryor. What's it gonna hurt? He has so much athletic ability. Worse case, you cut him. Best case, you find a gem.
* edit...what draft pick would they forfeit next year if they picked him? Or is relative to what round he is picked in?

I'm an OSU fan, and he's a locker room cancer. He's a me player and will undoubtly cause drama. Plus I dont think he'll be a good QB in the NFL, nor do I think he can transition to WR in NFL over the likes of guys that have been playing WR their entire lives. No thanks on him.

I may be wrong, but I think you will see a different guy now that all of the shit has come out about him. He should have motivation to change and prove to everyone that he can be a great player. And I'm not saying he will be an NFL QB. But he has so much ability, he should find a position.

Vick was a locker room cancer before he was exposed to the world. I would say TP is much more talented than randle el and brad smith, they both transitioned pretty good.

I'm not really in favor of taking him just because his position is "athlete."
He's not a QB. Could he be converted to a WR? Possibly but he has to KNOW (have it driven into his head by Browns management) that coming in he will NOT be a QB. Will he be fine with this? Doubtful as Rosenhaus is going to push him as a QB so the agent (Rosenhaus) can get the most cheddar. Can you imagine Pryor's reaction if Shurmur says "you're playing specials and we want you on kick/punt coverage?"
All this being said I give up no higher than a 7th for him.

I'll just say, you're making an awful lof of assumptions and excuses for a guy that by most accounts is a total me first dbag.

Pryor is only worth it if you can get him for a 6th rounder or worse. He's a freak athlete, but where do you play him on the field? He's not a QB(but neither is Tebow) and he's not a WR.
