I agree not one quits a dream job just to hang out with their family, he clearly can not do it for health reasons IMO.

Don't mind it if he wins a National Championship in that one year.

If he does come to OSU...I honestly wouldn't want to see that offense he runs. I think defenses have caught up with it. Unless you have someone exceptional to run it(Tebow)...I think we saw this year what could happen offensively.

There's no substance to the story because it's not a story, it's his opinion. He's just saying that if and when Meyer decides to coach again he sees OSU being the most likely possibility assuming that Tressel retires in four years when his contract is up.

Those in the media close to Tressel say that he hates the head-coach-in-waiting concept (as do I). I think this is only fine in w Bret Bielema situation when the head coach announced this would be his last season then named his replacement. Naming a guy your next head coach four years before it's supposed to happen just has too much potential for problems.

Also, why do people assume he'll be back in the coaching game in a year or two? Why doesn't anyone think that he really wants to see his kids grow up and will stay out of coaching for several years? One of the main reason Bill Cowher retired was to spend more time with his kids. He has stayed away, and his kids are now done with school so he's considering coming back to coaching. It's very possible that Meyer will do the same.
