I surely do wish Massa Miles (as he's known in the South) would make up his cotton-pickin mind. He is known to be a disciplinarian and will crack the whip getting the unruly ones back in line, returning this proud old program to the days of its former Glory long ago.

Sounds like DB and LM will be meeting tomorrow.

They need to get someone quick before their recruiting class is shot. The pizza man botched the firing lets hope he doesn't botch the hiring too.

ESPN just reported this on the Bottom Line as well. I guess that's good right? I mean, they're at least meeting.

Now you'uns don't really think the southern press is ever gonna let that get in print do ya? That's just what the Good Ol' Boys up 'round Baton Rouge Parish call Coach Miles. He's gotta strong way of handlin' the trouble makers (...an we all know which ones they are, don't we?). He will do the same for UM and bring back respectibility to a team desperately needing some southern guidance.

Yes. My feeling is that if Miles was not interested he would not bother interviewing. Couple of points though; he could be interviewing just so LSU will offer him more cash, and an LSU fan will tell he is interviewing just to be nice to Michigan.

The second is pure BS. The first sounds possible, but generally coaches don't interview unless they are really interested.

Michigan needs to get this done. Especially if they get a meeting with him. Even if Miles gets a new contract offer from LSU, they need to at least match any offer he gets from LSU. They really can't afford to keep moving down the list of candidates (and keep getting turned down). IMO it hurts the brand and more importantly, they need a head coach so that they can start recruiting talent

CB says he has a "hunch" that it will be Hoke. That got people riled up. I'm just about ready to quit caring and just read the headline when the new coach is announced.

David Brandon's latest statement...

This sounds like a Hoke hire to me.

It will be most unfortunate if UM has to settle for a coach of lesser stature like a Hoke. But Notre Dame surprised everyone last year with a no-name hire and its turned out pretty good for them. Although as much as I like Coach Kelly now, all of us die hard (the only way to die...) Notre Dame fans have to admit we kinda felt short changed last year when they hired him.

And I'm sure Wolverine fans will feel the same way if they get stuck with a relative nobody like Hoke. But lets see how this plays out before we give up on our Southern Savior, Mr. Leslie Miles. Why does a grown man have the first name Leslie I ponder?

I don't consider Kelly a coach of lesser stature. I thought he was a good hire and I thought many said the same.

Michigan asked to interview Missouri's Pinkel and he declined.

I never thought I'd hear the words "most consider moving from lsu to Michigan a step down " but that's been the national ESPN radio break today.

just hire hoke and get it over with...that said, OSU wasnt exactly getting huge name coaches to come in when we hired T-diddy...so it's just about finding the guy who is the right fit, not exactly a big name. I do think Les would be good for UM, but if you can't get em, it just shows how much the UM job has fallen. I cant imagine if I were a coach turning down the OSU job if it was offered. Then again, I cant imagine being a coach, let alone being good at it.

I agree hire Hoke, he will "rebuild" the program for a few years, then once that happens and Michigan gets back to going to New Year's Bowls, find and hire the bigger fish.
