Wow.
Pretty creative and ballsy. I know he was pretty outspoken against Rich Rodriguez when he was hired. Well, he at least took it upon himself to inform Rich of everything that Michigan was about because he knew/felt that he had no idea what was going on.
I'm kind of impressed as to how he has handled being a leader as far as alumni go.

Latest from CB is very optimistic is regards to Miles coming to UM. This part stuck out to me...
Miles was passed over for the job in 2007 despite former A.D. Bill Martin’s committee’s unanimous recommendation that he hire Miles. He was put in a tough spot with his team preparing to play in the national championship game, but trust us on this: it killed him that he didn’t get the job.
I’ll never forget the interviews after it fell through. When one reporter asked Miles how it felt that he’d never get his dream job, he responded, ‘I’m not that old, am I?’ He had tears in his eyes in another, and you could tell that as much as he loves LSU - and he does - Michigan has his heart.

Not saying Miles won't take the job, or won't be interviewed... but the last time around I tend to think he turned them down, not the other way around. There was no way he was going to leave LSU when they had just been in the National Championship

That is very interesting.
If this CB that you speak of is as reliable as you say he is, then it seems like Michigan is Les's dream job just as much as it is Brady's.
How fitting, starting and possibly ending your career at the same place!

Disagree. Miles was waiting for a return call from then AD Bill Martin. Martin waited 3 days to make that call, and in the meantime, LSU offered the extension. Miles really had no choice.

Check out this interview from after the Cotton Bowl. About as telling as it can get. Almost awkward.

Are Bigger and Better things the Rose Bowl?
I agree, it was very awkward the way he just shook his head "It's a wonderful place."
You could hear the desperation in the player's voice and see it on his face too, that he might not be coming back.

I expect there to be a lot of chatter today, but still no coach. Hopefully tomorrow.

LSU's old AD said he thought Les Miles was going to stay because of the age of his children. I wonder where his wife is from. Maybe she can pull the "I want to go home," card if she's from the midwest.
I expect to hear a lot today too.

Brandon's plane is in Dallas to supposedly interview Les Miles, and rumor is that isn't the only BCS bowl game coach he is interviewing while there.

Some rumors going around that Miles' wife does not want to come back to AA, but those reports are being refuted. She is from AA and met Les there, as well as coached the women's basketball team at Michigan. The only thing that could give it legs is that his kids are mostly high school age, and maybe she doesn't want to uproot them, but I doubt that is the case.

Who else would he have talked to while in Dallas? Stoops?

Did he get pinned down before his team’s bowl game and pretty much had to say he was staying? I thought it was after Herbstriet made an announcement that Miles was for sure going to UM.

I haven't heard this as anything solid, just speculation. It would be awesome and makes a lot of sense though. How better to get the most attention from recruits across the nation?

That would be like a 2nd Christmas!
If Les Miles IS announced as the next head coach at Michigan, I seriously think the presser should be on a stage at Michigan Stadium. I honestly think that they could get a fairly huge crowd there just to cheer his arrival.
If LSU DID offer Les 5 mil a year (which is about a 1 million increase/year), I wonder if Michigan would come in at the 5.2 they were going to give Harbaugh or if it would be 5.5 or more. Could they possibly go as high as 6 million?

I doubt they go to 6 million. Brandon said he's allotted 10 million for the staff, and he wants to spend high dollars on the assistants, which is awesome for Michigan.

I always liked the saying "Michigan's going to trade in their old Carr for one with Les Miles"-- it appears they may get their wish..IMO, it's a great hire for tsun--hopefully not too good though

Good luck Mr. Miles we have all the faith in the world in you. You will bring glory back to the Maize & Blue in no time of that I am profoundly sure.
