You get my vote for Post Of The Year - One Buckeye. I think a couple drops leaked out after watching that.

Reports are saying Harbaugh has agreed to a 5 year deal with 49ers.

I don't know about Webbie, but I would really like Les Miles. The sole reason is that there are 2 conferences in the country that play good defense on a consistent basis-The SEC and the Big 10.
I can't see anyone in the Big 10 jumping their ship to come to Michigan. Also, I am somewhat weary of a Non-Michigan Man simply of because of how bad things were with someone who had no idea about what Michigan was all about.
Hoak wouldn't be bad either, he just doesn't have enough big time experience. If he would have coached at a 2nd Tier AQ School (UCLA, CAL, CO, UK, OK St...), I would feel much more comfortable with him.

Miles is about the only option left that would still be able to save and improve this recruiting class. He's my choice too. Hopfully we will hear some news tomorrow after LSU is done.

Yes.
I've always liked the fact that he has balls with his play calls.
Yea he's fucked up in-game before, but besides the 2 botched clock plays what has he fucked up? I don't think making ballsy calls and having them backfire counts (see Tress's decision to go for it on 4th in the Sugar Bowl)

I think this aspect is over-criticized. As kahuna eluded to, there were a couple that were highlighted because of the opponent and result. But he wins, and wins in the SEC. You can't be a bad in-game coach and do that.

If Miles was a terrible coach he would not win 10 games a year in the toughest division of the toughest conference over the last 6 years. I still think it will be hard to pry him from LSU though. With Mallett, Newton, and all the Bama playmakers leaving that division is LSU's to win next year. I believe both QBs he has will be back.

That, and easier pickings in terms of recruiting. On a per-capita basis, Louisiana is the most productive recruiting area in the country - and LSU is the only major program in the state. Also , getting kids from Florida and Texas to come to Baton Rouge will be easier than getting them to come to Greater Detroit.

FWIW, someone very connected to the program says this is an untrue rumor.

I know it's probably just smoke and not worth a whole lot, but there was a Michigan plane in Baton Rouge today.
There are a few reports out there that the plane belongs to a UofM Booster. I guess we shall see what happens.
Here is a picture of the jet.

According to Rivals there is some momentum starting to build behind the Les Miles talk..
Lloyd Carr wanted him last time around, and Brandon may be thinking it would be a way to re-unite the "factions" that exist within the program.
btw, I read that Harbaugh wanted the head coach AND athletic director positions.. which would have knocked Brandon back to the board of regents. What bullshit by Harbaugh.

I read on a few sites that the plane belongs to Stephen Ross, Michigan booster and Miami Dolphins owner.

Miles is still friends with UofM boosters and alumni. He has never cut those strings. The big question, does Miles stay at LSU as his team is loaded next year to make a run at the National Championship?
Personally, I would like to see him at Michigan and rebuild them to where they should be. I also agree with others, to win 10 games a year in the SEC you must be doing something right coaching.

Because it's a long-standing rumor. He just mentioned yesterday that it's not true, which is the first time I've ever heard such.

I think Carr was part of the problem last time, and was with Harbaugh as well. The 2 main factions that exist are the Bo guys and the Lloyd guys. Lloyd seems more interested in cementing his place in UM history than he does the well-being of the team. I hope Brandon tells him to go fly a kite.
Mary Sue Coleman is a major player too. And she looooooooooooves Carr. She was also against Harbaugh. And I wouldn't be surprised if she resisted Miles last time. Word is that she is willing to let him in this time.
The stuff about Harbaugh is sickening and really show the state of the Michigan athletic department right now. No wonder coaching candidates aren't lining up for the job. NFM Michigan.

I heard on ESPN this morning that the 49ers offered Jim LESS than Michigan was prepared to offer him!
I looked it up, and Saban and Brown are the 2 highest paid coaches at 5.9 and 5.8 after all compensation (bonuses and what not). According to John Clay of ESPN, the 9ers were going to be less than Michigan, which means Michigan was prepared to make Harbaugh the 1,2,or 3 highest paid coach in College Football. Rich Rodriguez came in the top 15 at 2.5. Les Miles came in at 3.9. So, will Michigan be willing to pay Les almost 2 million more a year than LSU? To me, that'd be hard to say no to, especially it being your alma mater.
