Texas QB Russell Bellomy is on campus today. It's been hush hush since he is a Purdue commit. Been described as Tate 2.0. We need depth at QB badly.

Chris Bryant announces on Jan 28. Bryant is rumored to be down to Michigan and Illinois. My guess is he ends up in Ann Arbor.

Seems like he's about as close to a lock as you can get this late in the process. He's huge, hopefully the next Jake Long.

Yea Bryant would be huge for this OL.

Rumblings that Hoke got 5 commits this weekend.. could be the biggest recruiting weekend for Michigan in years.

Committed:

K Matt Wile
CB Raymon Taylor
CB Tamani Carter

Speculated to commit:

TE Frank Clark
Either LB Leilon Willingham or CB Stefan McClure (both would be awesome!)

OL Tony Posada reaffirmed his commitment.

Coach Hoke flew to California today to have and in-home visit with CB Stefan McClure.

Coach Mattison was in-home today with Cincy LB Antonio Poole. He will be announcing tomorrow at his home basketball game.. and is going to be a Wolverine.

A Rivals mod confirmed that there are 2 STRONG silent commits already, and 2 "pretty firm" silents.

Loving Brady Hoke right now.

#2 rated FB is visiting this week as well.

I was DEAD WRONG about the short-term effect Hoke would have. The future is looking good.

^^Which is why I said that maybe Brandon is a genius after all lol.

I'm very impressed by Hoke with the small recruiting window he's had.

I'm surprised Clark is being recruited as a TE. I think every other school is looking at him as an OLB.

I'm not one for shoveling out the told you so's but I did. :)

Guy wants to be there, he's excited and it rubs off on you. He's going to run with it and take it as far as he can. RR never had the passion like that for UM.

We'll still kick your ass though...just sayin' :)

I knew he'd be a good coach, but I thought it would long-term. I thought short-term would suffer because this year's class would be a disaster and recruits would be slow to come to Michigan because of "Brady who?" I also thought we'd see quite a bit if attrition because of going back to a pro-set offense.

But the staff he has put together and the recruiting they have done in just 2 short weeks is just incredible. And so far 0 attrition and the attitudes of the players is tremendous. Despite the debacle of "the process", this is turning out to be the greatest thing that has happened to Michigan football in quite some time.

Now, I just want to see it translate to the field.

Visitors for this weekend:

Chris Barnett, TE
Thomas Rawls, RB
Keith Heitzman, DE (committed)
Ryan Nowicki, OL (PSU commit)
Antonio Poole, LB (announcing tonight)
Trayion Durham, FB (not certain yet, but he might visit)

*Floyd Raven is out and Michigan no longer entertaining him. This makes me think McClure is coming for sure.

I'm not sure about the TE thing. I bet he ends up at safety if they land another CB.

Poole is official.

Just when I say last week LB is the definite weakness on the D, Hoke goes out and gets LBs for a third of the recruiting class. I'm a little surprised he hasn't been able to get a big time WR.

Pretty sure Raven and McClure are out. The writing was on the wall when they offered Carter.

Glad to see us get a QB in this class. I'm not surprised by no WRs in this class. We are loaded right now and I'd rather grab some better ones next year. I'd like to get the commits from Fisher and Bryan to solidify the OL, and I'd like to see another RB (Rawls maybe).

Loaded as in talent or just numbers? It's the biggest problem on the team IMO. Almost all those WRs are 6ft. After Hemmingway and Stonum leave next year the only real WR is Jeremy Jackson, oh and Ricardo Miller. Miller will probably be a TE though.

RB is much more deep, at least talentwise, but Rawls would be a nice short yardage guy to have.

I'd rather have had Devin Lucien at WR than Rawls at RB. Definitely agree on Fisher and Bryan.
