The year before Shaq came the Cavs lost in the 2nd round of the Playoffs and the year with Shaq they lost in the 2nd round of the Playoffs.
Shaq averaged 12 ppg and 7 rpg in 23 mins of work per game, I don't see how that was a hinderance at all. The biggest obstacle to the Cavs success was leadership and toughness in the Playoffs. No one on that team showed any of that in the Playoffs.

If you don't understand how Shaq hindered last year's team by now....then you never will. Shaq ruined the chemistry...and and even the most ardent Shaq supporters when the deal was made, can retrospectally agree that he ruined the team.

No, LeBron ruined it by fake injuries and not being a true leader in the locker room.

at least you owned up footwedge.

Shaq was definitely a hindrance. I have already shared my opinion as to why. He killed them offensively and defensively.

Offensively
-he still thought he was 2002 Shaq and killed possessions by dominating the ball and trying to score
-he camps in the paint. (one of Lebron's best skills is taking guys off the bounce and going to the bucket.) You can't do that with Shaq's big butt down there
-he holds the ball and gets fouled when his defender is in doubt. That's cool till you realize he sucks at free throws (other guys cough cough Lebron also were not good free throw shooters)

Defensively
-he was limited to guarding the paint.
-was not able to switch on pick and rolls
-was not able to play help defense (Mo Williams consistently got burnt by faster guards). Thus Shaq/Mo let a guy get an easy layup or Shaq hacked them

Exactly.

I saw it during the series and some guys like SQ had a hissy fit that I was calling it out.

LeBron quit. Shaq was more upset that Cleveland was losing than LeBron. Shaq "supposedly" called LeBron out in the locker room and it went from there.

The story I heard was that Shaq got physical with him, pushing him and pinning him to his locker. LBJ sat there like a wimp and didn't push back.

Sooner or later this entire story will come out. I'm curious to hear the reasons that Lebron quit on his team.

Hopefully he doesnt write it himself. He struggles with speaking English, I can only imagine trying to decipher it when its written down.

Getting Wallace is better than letting 14.5 million burn in your pocket. No lockout, then turn around and deal him in the summer/next season.
Its a no brainer imo. Cavs can land a valuable player that they could turn around and trade again down the road, getting a pick as well would be fantastic.

Shaq did not ruin that team.

LeCunt quitting on them is what destroyed that team.

Shaq thought he was 2002 Shaq??? He averaged 8.7 shots per game and he made 5 of them. He should have gotten the ball MORE.
He camped in the paint?? He is a true center isn't he? It never stopped Kobe or D-Wade from getting to the basket.
He might suck at Free throws but he was only shooting 4 a game, not a game killer.
As far as defensively he was no Dwight Howard but he was a lot better than Z and most other centers in the East.

Face it, Lebron didn't have the hunger for a Title last year and thats why they lost. Although he looks real hungry in his Miami Heat photo. Can't believe Shaq messed with that!!
