It has nothing to do with liking what he said or not. Massillon's decline happened long before their last state title in 1970. The majority of their titles were in the 40's and 50's when they won 18 of their 22. They only won 4 in the 60's and 70's combined. They only won in 70 b/c they had an exception class of athletes. Same reason for when they make it to the title games in the 70's-today.. only when they have an exceptional class. The population decline and job loss started in the 60's. It wasn't the booming post WWII steel town of the 40's and 50's anymore.
It's not an interesting point b/c its two different eras.. lets try to use our brain through the rest of this thread shall we?
Once again, just because you disagree with something, does not that the point is without merit. You do, however, look like a pompous jerk.

The first line of my original post stated that these titles occurred over 40 years ago, and in a couple of cases close to 90 years ago. Who really cares except a bunch of old All American Conference guys with 1 foot in the grave and Massillon residents with nothing else to talk about?

During your lifetime, Massillon hasn't won a thing. No matter how loud you try to dismiss the messenger, the message remains: NO TITLES ON THE FIELD, EVER, NEVER
I come off as a pompous jerk to you because I use reason and logic to back claims. You obviously aren't used to that. Things in life are not so cut and dry despite how badly you wish they were.

hehe............everyone to their corners..........These are ppl opinions. We cant take your lil titles away!! So they are safe. Id root for Massillon in a championship game against most any school in DI. I always pull for public schools, especially ones close by.

We need to start counting the poll title in 1972 (ignore that nonsense that Warren Harding won it on the field). the Tigers have 23 titles

chiefs, it isnt just me............alot of ppl posting here. im being pretty civil and tried to lighten the mood even. I have my opinion on this and it wont change, but i dont get too worked up. Coyotes00 is too sensitive apparently. Big Red throws smack at ya till the moon freezes over. I dont wanna run ppl off or make them draw comparisons to JJHuddle. I lived in GA for 10 years and they bragged bout their HS football. I said, well you have heard of the MASSILLON TIGERS, right? and most of them had.

Umm. Every one of them was won on the field. AP Sportwriters didnt just give them a World Series Championship because they had the best regular season record!! Really now, Is that all you have? Or because their city had the best reputation from past seasons!!
