The post isn't illogical. Just because you don't like what he said, doesn't make it illogical.

It's also an excellent point that Massillon won bunches of titles on paper, but in nearly 40 years of OHSAA playoffs couldn't win just 1 on the field.

You claim a title in 1970. The playoffs started in 1972. The city didn't fade away in 2 years

It's an interesting point that Massillon has never won a State Championship on the field. Like it or not

Every good debate gets old after awhile. Ive run this one into the ground and am done with it. Chiefs, would you agree with this last statement. The Massillon Tigers were awarded 22 state titles, but have won zero state championships?

Awarded and Won are two completely different animals. They have won NOTHING!! Im trying to be done with this just agree with me so I can think of a new topic to stirr the crazies later tonight!! LOL

It has nothing to do with liking what he said or not. Massillon's decline happened long before their last state title in 1970. The majority of their titles were in the 40's and 50's when they won 18 of their 22. They only won 4 in the 60's and 70's combined. They only won in 70 b/c they had an exception class of athletes. Same reason for when they make it to the title games in the 70's-today.. only when they have an exceptional class. The population decline and job loss started in the 60's. It wasn't the booming post WWII steel town of the 40's and 50's anymore.
It's not an interesting point b/c its two different eras.. lets try to use our brain through the rest of this thread shall we?

Zwick, I have watched you bash and call every person that disagrees with you dumb, stupid, whatever. Why you taking it so personal? Didnt you transplant there from elsewhere? BTW, whats Justin Zwick up to these days? Assuming it isnt anything to do with football.

It's not because they disagree with me that they're stupid, it's when you use baseless claims, ignore facts, and let hatred blind your judgment is when you become stupid. To try to justify that Massillon's titles are unjustified b/c they won them in a different era, is stupid. Especially when you ignore the reasoning they were able to win them in that era.

Also... when you ask the old timers from Steubenville, Niles, Warren, Canton, Alliance, etc.. if the Tiger teams in the 40's and 50's were the best teams those years, they'll more than vouch for them. They witnessed the domination's. Same goes for Steubenville, Cathedral Latin, and Upper Arlington and all the other schools who were winning AP titles... they were the best teams in their time spurts. Massillon's spurt was the 40's and 50's.

And as I said before..that is your opinion..but..that is the format that was in place at the time..you can't fault Massillon for that. You can look at it as a 'beauty pageant' all you want. Fact is..they still have 22 Championships.
and that is your opinion...but if it looks like crap and smells like crap...I don't need to taste to know it will taste like crap...if it makes you feel better saying Massillon has 22 titles...go for it...but I don't recognize any title prior to the playoff system...and that is my opinion...

Has nothing to do with what 'makes me feel better'. It has to do with reality. And what you fail to acknowledge as reality I guess you can say. I'm not a Massillon fan..so it doesn't matter to me what anyone says about there 22 titles. ;) Just tired of hearing about it on every Massillon thread.

Once again, just because you disagree with something, does not that the point is without merit. You do, however, look like a pompous jerk.

The first line of my original post stated that these titles occurred over 40 years ago, and in a couple of cases close to 90 years ago. Who really cares except a bunch of old All American Conference guys with 1 foot in the grave and Massillon residents with nothing else to talk about?

During your lifetime, Massillon hasn't won a thing. No matter how loud you try to dismiss the messenger, the message remains: NO TITLES ON THE FIELD, EVER, NEVER

Reality = No titles since the start of the playoffs...if it isn't won on the field it is meaningless...IMO...

I think I am taking my frustration at the BCS and NCAA Division I football out on Massillon...lol...I am sure those in Massillon will be dusting off those old Tiaras from 22 Pageants to relive the good ol' days... ;)

This entire thread needs deleted. Is not false accusations under Rule #3.

And I love ALL THE NON-MASSILLON people bringing up OUR TITLES!!!! NOT Massillon people!!!! Thus furthers OUR point, that we do not brag, but, have to rather defend our titles.
