I'm not sure they are better than "everyone else", but so far OSU and Duke has separated themselves from the rest.

People who admit what a pitiful schedule OSU has played to date.

OSU has looked great beating up the sisters of the poor. It is difficult to determine how they will play when faced with similar athletes with a similar skill set.

Too bad they will have to wait until about the sweet sixteen to see this. :)

Obviously their schedule is not good. But again, this same arguement can be used for most other teams. I don't like, you don't like it...but Jesus Christ...its not going to change, so why continue to cry about it...over and over and over again? What good is that going to do? ITs not good, we get it already!! And again, its not OSU fault Florida hasn't lived up to their billing....Fla State is actually doing fairly well and SC certainly had some athletes....OSU waxed all three of them. They took care of business. I am watching teams like Tenn, Kansas and others struggle to beat some mediocre teams. OSU hasn't struggled to date except for the IUPUI game.
But based on what I saw vs Fla, Fla. St and SC.....as well as the "eye test", I can say with confidence, that OSU can play with ANYONE in the country this year. So don't feed me the bullshit of "how will OSU play when faced with similar athletes"....that SAME comment could be used for most everyone else in the country except for a handful of teams.

OSU can definitely play with anyone and I doubt they will have any problems winning the Big 10. I'm rather young but this is the most well rounded team I've seen from OSU to date. I think they are better than the runner up squad.

Sorry, but it isn't BULLSHIT, especially for the freshman.Beating some player who doesn't have the size or the skill set that you do doesn't prove anything and doesn't make you better.

I agree, the SAME could be said about many other teams. I just want OSU to be better than all of those other teams. Dare to be great, dare to be challenged, and take on all comers.

If they schedule like ALL of the other teams, like you and others have stated, they are no better and no worse. Logic 101.

Tennessee has had some great victories this year and some really bad losses. Pearl's teams depend on emotion more than most teams in the country. Maybe, that would explain wins over Nova and Pitt and losses to Oakland , Charlotte , and USC.

I don't put much stock in comparing scores between like opponents.Hell, UT-Martin lost at home to Lipscomb(90-71). UT-Martin just isn't very good and their 4-10 record proves that.

Prescott...I am not sure ANYONE disagrees with you. I would also luv to see a better schedule. But I also have great respect for Matta and believe in what he is doing at OSU. He sees the big picture, he realizes he is recruiting some great talent and knows not all will stay, some one and done. With this, he never knows what exactly to expect from one year to another..thus his thought process of getting wins and teaching young guys so they are ready for the IMPORTANT part of the schedule...the Big Ten. On top of that, the scheduling process is never as easy as it seems to many of us. Other major programs are doing the exact same thing...they want and need home games for $$. So to call Duke and say lets do a home and home doesn't always work that easy.
Again, I too would luv to see it beefed up. I am a season ticket holder and enjoy going to the Schott to see a "good game". But I also don't dwell on something out of my control that isn't going to change this year.

This isn't an exclusive club. Even Duke is going after one and dones. No coach knows for sure what they have coming back and they certainly don't know who their prospective opponents have coming back. This should not be an excuse for playing this OOC schedule. Last year, the Buckeyes lost to Butler and lost to WVU. It didn't hurt them in any way.In fact, it probably helped them.

Matta has OSU at the highest level. There is no reason to have a strength of schedule in the triple digits.

I am done discussing this OOC schedule. Perhaps, I am selfish because I enjoy watching competitive basketball and Matta chose not to give that to me in November and December. It is possible that OSU is THAT good and won't be challenged very often. Wouldn't you like to know the answer to that question sooner rather than later?

.

True..and maybe thats why Duke only scheduled ONE away game...that against a winless team. ;)
Whats your point about Bulter and WVU last year? Both those teams were good last year. If OSU had them on their schedule THIS year, you would be whininng about it as neither looks that great. And maybe it did hurt them as far as getting a #1 seed last year. Who knows. As I said, who knows what to expect on any given year. Last year, those teams helped OSU SOS. This year, they wouldn't have done jackshit for it.

Again, its not that I disagree. I don't really. But again..it is what it is....time to MOVE ON.

duke never schedules true road games early in the season.

I thought the point was obvious. OSU played two really good teams and lost to both, but it didn't hurt them one bit. In fact, it probably helped them.

NO, Logic 101 should tell you Ohio State is bettter than 99% of the teams in the country, regardless who they played in their non-league scheudle.

This entire discussion has been about OSU's schedule. Nothing more, nothing less. Apparently your comprehension skills are worse than your logic skills.
Matta doesn't give a shit what you want.

Yet, another profound statement from a deep thinker.
