I've watched a lot of college level wrestling and have never seen this myself either.

Sure there are some TD defenses that involve your hands all over the butt/groin area, but none that I've seen where you insert a finger into the rectum, especially without being "noticed" since the victim would have a singlet and underwear on.

I've been involved with the sport for a pretty long time and the "checking the oil" does not mean inserting your fingers in the anus. Anal penetration is simply not part of the sport.

Some of you people have your head up your ass so I guess you are "butt dragging" yourselfs then!! Know what your talking about, if have never seen a wrestling match (and I don't mean that WWE crap either) educate yourself. Wrestling is a martial art, it's premise is to control your opponent on the feet and on the mat/ground.

I also have a solid wrestling resume, and also have never done this, but you're kidding if you've never heard of it being done.

I agree! It's joked about a lot, but not actually utilized.
Edit:
I should clarify! It's not utilized by a large amount of people!

Heard the term checking the oil, certainly! Knowing any wrestler that has actually done it, or have ever seen it done litterally, NOPE!

I've been around wrestling for a while at different levels and have never heard of anyone literally "checking the oil" (IE fingers in the asshole).

Trust me - if someone had pulled that move on me in high school, his greatest worry would if be the chair that my teammates and I inserted in his ass would rupture his intestinal tract before the surgeon could get it out.

Listen, I'm not not saying that the guy sticks three fingers up there and sings Happy Birthday to his opponent. It's so quick and inconspicuous that you may not even see it unless you are absolutely looking. Sometimes all it takes is brushing your hand in that area to get the guy to squirm. It's used a defensive measure when a guy is in deep. I'm very good friends with several D1 wrestlers and they all talk/joke about it. It's just one of those taboo unspoken things.

That wasn't me!! I am not against the butt drag, I know what a butt drag is and it doesn't include anything IN the ass!

Brushing your hand in the area != penetration.

Fab1b;594096 wrote:Again this move you will see in MMA along with alot of grappling martial arts. All you do is basically from in front of your opponent, when they shoot in on your legs, palm the butt for leverage while controlling the head/arms you pull yourself behind your opponent. There are several different names but the most common is the butt drag. Again anyone that condones or teaches their athletes to put a finger into an orifice is dead wrong and to me it is criminal!

You didn't help your cause of trying to convince others this isn't a gay sport.

Wanna know what's kinda funny? My local school system is not big on wrestling, but my son is a middle school wrestler. He's gets kids running their mouths to him about how gay it is, so he just fires back at them with,"hey, you like UFC or MMA in general?" And a kid making fun of wrestling will respond with,"yeah, I love it." So my son will reply with something like,"well, did you know that wrestling is pretty much the basis of MMA and the vast majority of MMA fighters have a wrestling background?" It leaves the other kid speechless.

Too bad your son can't just beat the hell out of one of the bullies like you used to be able to do.

I'm very grateful that wrestling was really popular at my high school. Hell, we had a student section at most matches that rivaled the basketball games.

We border Claymont, and it's nothing but basketball on this side. Funny thing is, we suck at basketball, and do better at wrestling.

wrestling is definately a sport, and you need a good amount of athleticism and strength, but it's still really gay.
