Yes. Even if he would have went #1 overall it might have been the best draft pick in history.

Few others I would put up there, Joe Montana (4 times SB winner), Jim Brown best NFL player of all time, Otto Graham who in 10 yrs in the league at QB went to 10 championships winning 7 of them. As far as draft value I would say Brady is def on the short list.

Don't know about all sports but I'd say yes definitely for Football. 6th round draft pick #199 that has won 3 Super Bowl Championships, 2 SB MVPs, outstanding numbers and just seems to get better. Has there been another draft pick from the 6th/7th round that has produced as much?

So is this the best draft pick, the best draft pick value? I think the discussion changes a bit depending on the parameters.

i think best pick infers the most value out of the pick - taking a no-brainer #1 is getting a lot of value, but not relative to the pick...so it wouldn't be the best pick ever.

No, Id put MJ #1.

If you want to go pick with best value...sure its probably Brady. But best pick has to basically go to the best player/who produced the most right???

Hockey wise, Pavel Datsyuk comes to mind.

No. Every team missed on him several times. Luckiest pick, perhaps.

Johny Unitas was drafted in the 9th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers and was released before training camp.

How can you even judge that?..I guess if he wins the most superbowls you can begin to argue it....He got with a genius mind at coach and alot of guys had his caliber that did not get that lucky ....He is great but he got lucky too ... He would have been just another solid qb that might make 2 or 3 pro bowls if he landed elswhere......Terry Bradshaw was the best draft pick ever ..hehehehe...Kinda liked Joe Green.....Mike Webster was pretty good though ....Troy Polumalu..hmmmm Rod Woodson ...hmmm..........Jack Lambert ...hmmm not bad either .......Hows about for you Brownies ..jim Brown......For Dallas ..Bob Lilly......I like Orlando Pace he was a dominate offensive lineman........Dick Butcus.....Joe Montana maybe huh huh ...One of my favorites ..Walter Payton........How bout Jerry Rice?.......Dan Marino ..Emmit Smith..Mike Singletary...Roger Staubach...Barry Sanders.......How bout some of those really great players that played for poor teams and coaches ,,You can really call them great.. some already mentioned.....No Brady doesnt hit the criteria yet not even close....Like I said I think he is more fortunate than great anyway ...A future hall of famer ..Yes ..Let me say this also The best overall QB might not be the best draft pick ever either ....Dan Marino went in the middle 2nd round everybody turned him down ..His pick was a killer steal

^ How many super bowls did Marino win though.....you can have all the stats in the world but if you don't have rings it doesn't matter.

No.

It took an injury by Bledsoe for him to see the field.

I think Mike Piazza in the 62nd round is the best draft value ever.

In the modern era of football, this is the best bargain pick ever.

This is the best value pick in the history of sports.

Mike Piazza? I would equate the 45-62 rounds in baseball to about the 6th-7th rounds in football because of the vast number of baseball players in an organization, and Mike Piazza wasn't responsible for 3 world championships.

And talent surrounding him? Who's the one keeping the offense calm and collected with 1 minute to go on a game winning drive in the Super Bowl. The defense? No. The WRs? No. The RBs? No. The coach? Maybe. But it's the QB. At the end of the day, Tom Brady takes blame for losses and doesn't take credit for wins playing the toughest position on the gridiron.

Dan Marino was the 27th pick in the 1st round! Walter Payton was the 4th pick in the 1st round! Emmitt Smith was 17th in 1st round!! Did you research any of those?
