Yeah. Best draft pick in history means best player in history, essentially. That is not Brady. Best value draft pick means a guy who was drafted low who became a superstar that makes you wonder, "How the fuck did he not go early?!?" Brady definitely is a contender for best value pick.

An Echo in here?

If if best draft pick, then the answer is Jim Brown, if its best value...answer is Jim Brown. Get the best football player of all time with the 5th pick?! /homerism.

So you are saying that Ben Watson would be the best pick ever?

In soccer, thought not a draft, Barcelona signed Lionel Messi as a 12 year old and put him in their "minor league" system. Tough to get better than that!

Bart Starr a 17th rd pick Qb'd 5 NFL championship teams was a good bargain.

I didnt think there was a better "value" pick than Brady, but I have to agree with Bart Starr at this point. Although it is a close one. Bart Starr was the 200th player drafted and Tom Brady was drafted 199. Forget the rounds because of the amount of teams now, compared to back then.

Yeah but the QB position is a lot tougher and more demanding now than it was then.

^ Not really. Back when Unitas and Starr played, the quarterbacks called their own plays. They were also free game to the defense. They were not protected like today.
