Same. Alsom at the gym, I rather have them blasting the heat, instead of the AC, and also keep the fans off. It might be the wrestler in me, but I hate not getting a big sweat while working out. Cold sweats are very annoying, and it's beyond me why anyone would want to try to cool off while working out.

6'0, 190lbs. I should lose 20 lbs or so (My natural weight is right around 170). It's tough to find time to work out, so I pretty much have to manage weight solely through diet.

I disagree about the gym though. When I'm doing any kind of cardiovascular exercise I don't mind sweating. But if I'm lifting weights I'd rather be in a cooler environment.

I realize we are listing our preferences but I once read that the body responds to a warmer temperature when lifting weights.

It's better to be "warmed up" when doing any physical exercise. But it's completely possible to have your muscles warmed up in cooler environments.

I've never understood how ppl can take a hot shower after a sweaty work out. I am usually very hot and a hot shower would make me sick, esp in the summer.

How is it gross? Now when I was 6'2 130 that was gross(I looked like the people in the video that was posted). Its just since graduating college 2 1/2 years ago I've gained a little belly that I don't like haha. Also just to make it clear I don't think Im fat at 165 :).

As for running weather as long as its not over 80 Im good there is just something special about running in a light snow fall though. As for running inside it's terrible and I could only do it if it was on a track, I ran on a treadmill once for 5 minutes and never again will I do it.

I don't dispute that at all.

The article I read was stating that elevated environment temperatures assist in keeping the muscles as elastic as possible.

I think, like he said, it's the wrestler in a person. I wrestled in high school and we, as a rule, kept the wrestling room at a high temperature because, due to the nature of the sport, you're always looking to lose a couple pounds, so sweating them out at practice is as good a way as any. Damn...that brings up memories of working out in what felt like an 80-degree room with two sweatshirts (one a hoodie, so I could make sure my head was overheating as well), sweatpants, thermal underwear, etc. Some of them most intense practice moments were the mad dashes to the water fountain during breaks.

What do you mean "what felt like an 80-degree room"? I'm pretty sure our room was at least that hot.

And what are these breaks you speak of?

But I agree, I hate working out or lifting in the cold unless I'm taking a run in the snow. Love doing that.

Yeah I am pretty sure our room got up to the 100's at times, not even kidding. As for lifting, I have also read it is safer to lift in a warmer environment. It helps keeps your joints loose.

Hey now I was never that bad lol! And its not like I wasn't eating when I weight that little. Very fast metabolism+running 70-100 miles a week would be the reason why I was that small I was even eating 6000-10,000 calories(most of it unhealthy stuff) during that time. I think the only reason I gained weight in college is cause I started lifting during my sophmore year. I certainly don't miss looking like that or being called anorexic or an Ethiopian.

People think it's wonderful becuase you lose weight but you will lose weight with any type of starvation diet. And that's what it is. Drinking a low calorie drink and not eating is starving yourself.
It's not quite like that. You can put as many calories in it as you want to. You get calories. You can actually gain weight by doing the lemonade cleanse if you want to.
O-Trap;583039 wrote:What is a "lemonade cleanse?"

The lemonade cleanse is a mixture of fresh lemons, cayenne pepper, water, and maple syrup. You are supposed to mix it properly and drink it throughout the day. It takes the place of meals. On top of the lemonade mixture, drinking some laxative teas also helps in cleansing the body. The cleanse is all about balancing out the pH levels and extracting all the junk that is in our bodies. It's a bit of a "natural remedy" and those that support homeopathic medicine favor a cleanse like this. They suggest that the cleanse be done from 7-30 days.

In regards to the calories, they are determined by the amount of maple syrup that is included in the mixture. The more you put in, the more calories. The less you put in, the less calories you take in. The lemons add vitamins and nutrients. The cayenne pepper is the cleansing agent (I believe). So if you want to maintain weight, figure out how much maple syrup is needed to maintain. If you want to gain weight, put that much maple syrup in. If you want to lose weight, don't put as much maple syrup in.

I'm 6'2 and 225. I think I'll go to wrestling practice every day during winter break and get into shape. My freshman year of college I was 255 but dropped to 206 by the spring, the rare "Freshmen -49." :) I'd like to get to 199 once more before I die hahah

Maple syrup= sugar. If all your calories are coming from syrup water you are not being very healthy.

Looks like I may be one of the "fattest" people on here...at least in comparrison of height to weight....UGH...

Right now am at 5'8" and 235lbs. I have been up and down a lot over the last year or so with P90X and other diet type stuff. Best I was at was 210ish after P90X...but was still way too fat.

I would LOVE to lose weight, but haven't found the type of excercise that is right for me. Can't stand P90X anymore...so many things that drive me crazy.

Dependent on how many inches I would lose, I would like to lose about 70lbs. and be back down to where I was in HS. Doubt that will happen though.

I started running in the summer, but that is too cold for me now...when I run in the cold I get sick.

I wouldn't mind getting a stationary bike, but don't have the money. Or possibly trade in P90X for Insanity.

Any helpful advice....besides stop eating.
