Not sure if anyone posted this yet, but here is the list. It is going to be pretty damn hard to pick 5 guys from this list. I wish they would just induct the guys as soon as they are eligible, with no limit of inductees. It just makes no sense to me how old timers get inducted 20+ years later. What did they do from that time on to finally become a HOF? It's not like they were adding on to their stats. Anyway, its hard not to see Sharpe, Sanders, Carter, or Faulk make it. I think it is a joke that Carter hasn't being inducted yet (another example of why the hell does he have to wait extra years?). All i know is Art Modell better not get inducted.

Ray Guy should have been in years ago but they obviously dont hold punters in high regard. Love the fact that 3 Steelers are on the list. Would love to see Art go in.

Modell will never get in as long as he's alive or the HOF is in Canton...IMO he doesn't deserve to be in for moving a franchise.

I'd love to see Martin get in his first try but I'm not sure he'll make it right away.

Where's LC Greenwood? It's a complete joke that he hasn't been inducted yet.

I think Deion and Faulk pretty much locks. I think either Bettis or Martin get in but not both. And even though there are plenty of deserving receivers they never seem to vote them in so I don't think you can say any are locks. Carter and Sharpe (I know he's a tight end but those two positions anymore seem to be bunched together) have the best chance of the group. And we'll also see one or two from a non-glamor position someone like Aeneas Williams or Richard Dent.

That would be my five. I'm a big Browns fans, but I really respect Bettis and think he deserves to go in. Without him, the Steelers honestly would've sucked the last half of the 90s and early 2000s. They relied on him and just kept pounding him until defenses tired and that's when the Steelers won.

Chris Carter deserves to get in eventually. He may not have a ring, but he has the stats, and he was key to any Vikings success.

A pure punter needs to go.

You can't really separate the triumvirate of Kelly/Thomas/Reed and pinpoint which ones was the catalyst, but in my mind, the other two couldn't have functioned without Reed (and to an extent Beebe) being there as strong receiving threats.

And Neon Deion simply because it's the "Hall of Fame", not just the "Hall of Great Stats". The story of the NFL in the 90s couldn't be said without including him. That makes him a hall-of-famer. (Same reason Kurt Warner deserves his spot when he's elligible).

Shannon Sharpe almost has to get in, the guy was the best TE in history. Choosing between Carter, Brown and Reed will be tough considering they all played the same spot and two in the same year would be pushing it let along all three. Faulk IMO should get the nod over Bettis and Martin for that position.

If The Bus gets inducted next year.....I'll be making the trip to Canton for that.

Regardless, it's going to be one star-studded class. A lot of recent stars eligible.

I don't think a punter should be inducted unless they decide to induct 6 guys this year. A punter over a guy like Carter? Come on.

How do the # of inductees work anyway, is it 5 total, or 5 players and also coaches, owners, media, etc?

I can't believe some of you guys are actually picking Tim Brown over Carter.

If Martin doesn't get in his first year then Bettis doesn't either. Martin has better stats in 2 fewer seasons.

They both deserve to get in, obviously, but it should be in the same class or Martin gets in a year before.

lol I started him that week too. When it comes to Jerome Bettis, that's the memory that sticks with me.

I think they have a legends induction as well. Isn't that how Gene Hickerson got in? Tim Brown and Cris Carter having to wait is a crying shame to me.

Between 4 and 7 can be selected for induction. 5 is just the general rule of thumb. Once the 'finalists' are chosen, they're then put before the selection committee. You must appear on 80% of all ballots to be chosen for the hall. If less than four are chosen, the top four vote getters get in. If more than 7 are chosen, only the top 7 get in.

I forget the elimination process, but after enough years of not getting elected to the hall, a candidate is eliminated from future consideration (I believe they can still go through the Senior Committee).

That is one hell of a list.

I wouldn't have any problem for any guy on the list though. Aeneas Williams is one of the most underrated players of all-time.

This would be a good year to extend the thumb to 6-7. A lot of special individuals in that class that deserve in the hall.

They will narrow down the semi-final list to a list of 15 players. They will then vote on each senior committee nominee individually. If either or both get 80% of the vote they get inducted. They then take the list of 15 finalists and narrow it down to 10 and then 5. Those 5 are then voted on yes or no. Whoever gets 80% of the vote gets inducted.

The Senior Committee for this year can pick any player who's career has been over for 25 years. This year that is 1986. This year's nominees are linebacker Chris Hanburger, Washington Redskins (1965-1978) and linebacker Les Richter, Los Angeles Rams (1954-1962)
