New Notre Dame recruit Cam McDaniel is drawing comparisons to the former Michigan player. I know he transferred from Michigan and I believe it was back to Texas somewhere, but shouldn't he be playing where ever he went by now? I know he was a handful for a lot of teams, especially ND and I'd only assume he would be a really good compliment to Denard Robinson in that offense had he stuck around. He would have been a true junior this year, right?
Didn't he get homesick? Like the Wear twins from Carolina that just transferred home to UCLA

That rings a bell though it was during the Rich Rod swears at me/family values exodus so it's hard to tell whether that was it or not.

Didn't he get banged up too during that first year? Maybe a concussion?

He did get pummeled often, and did end up with a concussion, thought it might have been against OSU too though I don't remember for certain. I thought the consensus was that he realized he was undersized for the Big 10.

From what I remember he had a little brother who needed a positive male influence so he transferred closer to home.

Hmm. Did he transfer to a JuCo or a lower level school first, or did he go straight to Rice?

What karen said.
But Kramb, I feel like I remember hearing that too. The whole going to a lower division or ju-co.

Maybe he was talking about going to a JuCo or lower division school before deciding on Rice.

I actually was a fan of McGuffie while he was playing at Michigan. At the end of the day, even though he was an exciting player, he was not built to get 20+ touches in the Big 10. Rich Rod loves those waterbug, smallish yet fast players and he about kills them. He's a perfect change of pace guy, but he should not be getting more than 12-15 touches a game (in the Big 10 anyways)
I'm glad that McGuffie is happy and it seems like the concussion issues are behind him (by the way he got absolutely drilled in the Buckeye game) but I really think going to Rice was a boneheaded decision. Should have picked Houston or Texas A&M. I can count on one finger how many times Rice has been on tv this season

Not sure if he looked at JuCo or smaller schools, but he wanted to stay within 100 miles of home and in FBS according to the SI articles posted above. That narrowed his choices down to Rice, Houston, and A&M.

Yeah he did go straight to Rice, the question was brought up whether he looked at the JuCo or non FBS route.
